D&D 5E Return to The Temple of Elemental Evil - (full, at the moment)

I think we have gotten 5 yeahs for the (or enough I'm good either way votes) to modify the short rest down to around 15 minutes on the average. Just enough time for those who need it to rest while others search or cast ritual spells.

Not sure what AL is but I figured out that RAW means Rules as Written. With this in mind I just wish to point out that a character can't gain the benefits of a long rest more than once in a 24 hour period. This leads me to think that the optional rule was to give a party only one long rest at an hour for the day before they need to rest 8 hours (just for normal sleep purposes).

Hmm, But then they wouldn't get to one hour rest for the entire day after the awoke. Well this rule is so strange.

NOTE: Just going with the amendment, can work out things later if the dungeon proves troublesome.

Will have IC up this weekend (Monday latest), so everyone be ready for some RPing round the campfire.

"Oi!, so sorry me lady but there ain't no other place to sleep sept on the ground."

Can't wait to get started.

Looking forward to it as well. :)

In the meanwhile, I added the bond "A geas of contracts" to Rana's background, representing a few contracts/(sometimes entirely random) obligations she's acquired in exchange for (some of) her powers or simply for bit of knowledge/secrets. Or the reverse: favours owed from the lesser fey

I have no time right now to review this excellent character (because she has a lot of character?), but will tonight. In the mean time I would like to give her a trinket - From an old druid crone who was part of Aridha's ceremony she receives a thin silver chain with an odd medallion. There is an amethyst at the top where the chain feeds through and a silver crescent moon pendant, grooved down its inner side to hold a small round very clear mirror. The whole piece looks like a full moon on a chain. "When you look into it young one," the elder druid says raising her hood. "You will always see yourself for who you truly are." She then walks away.

The mirror only shows Aridha's reflection when she looks into and reflects nothing else, looking like a piece of white metal to anyone else. When she wildshapes the medallion can neither fall off or merge with her form.

Already have one in mind to help better join the 2 1/2 odd groups of characters we have into one.

AL is Adventure's League, the official WOTC D&D Open Play program.

That's on WED nites somewhere around here. That is the whole problem I don't have the right schedule for playing the two IRL games around town. But I am having plenty of fun re-reading a module I played back in 91' all the memories come rushing back in of pizza (we were Pizza Hut customers of the month lol), my friends, and outsmarting an ogre in a rock toss game. That was 26 years ago?!? Wow does this game hold up.

Here is the plan... pray all goes well (haha).

I will finish the characters reviews tonight and post those tomorrow.
-- Few things off the top of my head are...

... could change Aridha's scimitar to cutlass (same just different skin) and say she got it from Zanword and he taught her a little sword play for funnzies

... Captain Blackpearl won't get much use out of Rite of Passage, so maybe we can rethink of how to play Bad Reputation. Instead of being a blood-thirsty pirate you keep everything the same and say that people seek your recommendation or endorsement of either their service or skill. It's known far a wide about your taste in wine and food so you hardly ever have to pay. Maybe at a tailor shop the owner practically has to beg you to wear his clothes, just in case you mention to someone where you got your outfit. Think on it. Nothing in stone just yet. Thinking of a side quest that will put you at sea for a bit to get your ship started, but most of the main adventure is underground.

...I noticed Lady Rebekah comes with a lot of baggage (i.e the 25lb chest with her clothes in it) and no backpack?! Is your rapier and leather armor in the chest? If you wish you could change the leather out for padded as I could see her wearing a quilted skirt/bodice for a little protection. I had thought of seeing Rebekah around level 3 or 4 doffing the "lady" identity for the "lass" identity - Rebel (leather armor, bow, sword, hair in braid, etc.) growing out of the sheltered life. Putting on identities like clothes (whatever you need for the day). Oh reminds me Greyhawk calendar have to look that up.

Ok this is for everyone I have gone over a few more options (yes I know *groan*). But this time there is no vote. We will use the Disarm as an action you may take it's in the DMG and we will use lingering injuries as an RP only tool (there will be no in game mechanics involved). If your character reaches 0 hit points he will receive an injury (based on what happened) just to help with RPing.

And I will be trying to write a story of how everyone met, based on your discussions so far about how your characters relate. I hope to post this tomorrow night so we have a day or two to discuss/change things. Just to let everyone knows I have the ending in mind (lol) - it involves Lady Rebekah's routine on one side (Rebekah, Emmyr, and Gwylla) - Mother Rana and her children on the other (Rana, Zanword, and Aridha)- with the poor caravan folk (Templeton and Hexiros) in the middle.

Still a work in progress.

I don't mind having useful Rite of Passage replacement - good rep and skill in persuasion go a long way :)
Note that he may be lewd and lecherous - he may not be old salt, but he was a sailor :)

The ship: leave the wreck in the swamp - it will give me something to spend my money on - restoration, digging into the swamp for deeper water, thinking on how to get it to the main flow - maybe even enchanting it to fly. Quicker version is - we get to it along with some research, casters and rituals and turn it into foldable boat magic item :) He is here to guard the river - no sea necessary - besides, going underground will protect the surroundings.

Cheers,
Siniša

I figured she learned to use a scimitar from other druids, but a cutlass works too. I think Aridha is rather taken by the idea of seafaring...but obviously that'll never work until she gets a handle on the curse. A ship is the WORST place for her until then.

...I noticed Lady Rebekah comes with a lot of baggage

Emotional and otherwise :)

(i.e the 25lb chest with her clothes in it) and no backpack?! Is your rapier and leather armor in the chest?

Her rapier and armour are in the chest for sale, most of the gear came from the Diplomats pack she got from being a Bard, I thought the chest as a cool thing for her as it show a Lady down on her luck, stepping of carriage with just a chest of things. Of note, it also doesn't come with food and other "sensible" options.

She will be wearing her travelling dresses and as needs must, she will slowly morph into "other" things. But yes, she will have to have Mister Anvilforge sell her some of her equipment for something a little more..*shudder* practical.
