D&D 5E How do stats work with magical items e.g. Berserker Axe?

Hi there,

First time posting.
I was wondering how the stats of magical items like the Berserker Axe or Adamantine Armor work. Are the just normal stats for an item, so a Berserker Axe might have the same stats as a greataxe, or do they have their own stats. If so were could I find them?

Thanks in advance.

Yep, they have the normal stats, unless the item description in the DMG specifically says otherwise. So adamantine chain mail would have AC 16, with no Dex modifier.

A berserker ax is a type of ax you decide on, a battle ax, great ax, or even (I guess) hand ax. Some of the limitations are more common sense like adamantine armor not being leather but a metal like chain or plate. You can even make up crossover types of weapons like a defending ax or vorpal ax. Once again be careful for common sense like not making a vorpal mace.

Are you accusing me of badwrongfun for giving one of my PCs a Club of Sharpness? ;)
