Templeton's flames curl away the old cobwebs between a few low hanging branches before he quickly pulls it away from the tree itself. The small spiders shy away from him and the one that has been enchanted by Rana's magic quickly seeks shelter in the folds of the old woman's robe.

"And what do you all do, all day long?" she asks the tiny beast, while searching for any signs of the deklo trees, but finding none.

"We eat!" the creature says almost proudly. "We eat the small things. And the others eat the larger things, things like you."

It looks to the squirrel, before attaching a fine web to Rana's arm and descending down to join the other spiders swarming the cocooned creature. "It won't be long. Not long at al. See. Here they come."

Emmyr spun around as he heard the rustle in the trees.

“Sp-Spiders!” the dwarf yelled warning to the others. He trembled so much he nearly dropped his axes.

But he was a dwarf, damn it! And Lady Rebekah was counting on him. The fragile young pointy-eared noblewoman had no business being out in a forest like this!

Well, in that case, neither did any sensible dwarf!

“Stay behind me, milady!”

With a rush, Emmyr charged around Lady Rebekah, getting between her and the nearest spider, slashing at the hideous creature with his axes, slicing it deeply several times, hacking off legs and chunks of chitin as hideous green-black ichor sprayed over him.

Zanword starts after the dwarf, but, seeing his prowess with the axes, stops, hefts his harpoon off his back and throws it at the spider. It flies over the dwarf embedding into spiders body with the solid think and the beast curls its less as it sinks down.

"Good work, Emmyr! wait for the next, don't rush off!"

Zanword moves on the opposite side and block easy access to the spider southwest of the group.

"Ah but my..." Rana chuckled, gleeefuly enjoying the gore out if the corner of her eyes, "my children are quite strong in their own way, little spider." The chuckle turned into a cackle. "Tell me, won't you consider a little... negotiation before they destroy you all?"

Could represent her lack of formal magical training? Everything to her is... magical [/sblock]

Templeton quickly snaked his way past the Old Woman and her Frog and stood ready behind the Dwarf and Pirate; rapier in one hand, lit torch in the other.
"They grows 'em big out in the countryside. Mind them two legged Buggers. They canna be for off now!"

Gwylla once again intones the words and points at the weaker looking spider, while three glowing blasts of energy slam into the creature.

Bekah did indeed heed Emmyr's advice and stood behind the stock dwarf. She pulled one of her darts out and hurled it over his head at the closest of the spiders. "Be careful Hexiros," she calls out to the warrior. "You are too brave for your own good sometimes."

Aridha rushes forward to get a look at the spider around the copse of trees ahead of the group. It's already pretty badly hurt, but she hurls the flame in her hand at it, hoping to finish it off!

Edit - Doh! Messed up the die formula! But it missed anyway, so...bah!
