Sacrosanct
Legend
Let me add another one. In a thread about peoples' pet peeves on D&D rules, 10 pages are spent discussing the pronunciation of minotaur and satyr.

If anybody in this thread sprains a shoulder while patting themselves on the back for their own brilliance, please post a photo so I can laugh.
I've used apostrophes to distinguish when vowels are pronounced individually as opposed to as a diphthong (say, like "zoology" would be "zo'ology"), and similarly for distinguishing consonants from consonant clusters (say, like "springtime" would be "spring'time"). Of course this is used solely for made up words where the pronunciation may seem ambiguous.
In the case of a word like zoology (or coordinate) you would use a diaresis to indicate this. It looks an awful lot like an umlaut. But it's there to indicate each 'o' is a separate sound.

More of a pedantic pet peeve about the RAW not really doing a very good job with nomenclature or specifying which sorts of things are which.
In class I always use the following sentence: I am going to a party. How do you say that? "I yam go wing to wa par tee"
