I posted an idea to Reddit and it was suggested I try to reach you another way.

https://www.reddit.com/r/mpmb/comments/7v3ldc/idea_for_the_optional_merging_of_spell_lists_with/

Is it too difficult to have an option to combine spell lists that use the same caster ability and spell DC save like Arcane Tricksters, Eldritch Knights, Artificers, and wizards?

I would think you could just have the prepared spell options selectable for wizard spells and the rest marked as prepared the way you do with Cleric Domain spells that are always prepared. You would I guess also have to mark ritual spells on the wizard list so that you would know you can cast them as a ritual.

It might be a bit of a niche, and I am not sure if there some issue with the Charisma based casters or Wisdom based Casters and ritual casting.

Just a thought. Thanks for anytime and consideration.

Sorry, they're retiring use of it on Windows 10 devices. View attachment 93822
That's a screenshot I just took, having downloaded and opened one of the character sheets in Reader.
If the picture doesn't work, here's a link to an article about it: https://www.onmsft.com/news/microsoft-ending-support-for-its-windows-8-10-reader-app

I'm not terribly well-versed in technology so maybe I'm missing something? Please lmk if I'm just being dumb lol

You're not being dumb, everyone has different levels of tech knowledge. I'll start at the beginning, and hopefully clear it all up. :)

Adobe and Microsoft are two separate companies. One of the programs Adobe created is called Acrobat. It creates documents in a format called PDF(stands for Portable Document Format). The full Acrobat software costs a lot of money, but they also have a free Acrobat Reader program so people like us can open and view PDF files created by companies who use the format to create digital versions of user manuals, books, etc. Think of PDF as an alternative to MS Office's .doc format. Microsoft has an app called Reader which can also open PDF files, but it sounds like that app is going away. Adobe's free Acrobat Reader app isn't going anywhere though(They have a vested interest in making sure people can read the format, so businesses will keep using the expensive software to publish things as PDF files). And according to MPMB's documentation for his character sheet, it only works correctly in the current version of Adobe's app, currently called Acrobat Reader DC. The reason for that is because the sheet does a lot more than present text and graphics. There is a lot of code inside the .pdf file(mostly Javascript, I think) that enables it to do all the awesome stuff it does like auto-calculate skill modifiers, add class abilities as you level, that sort of thing. Non-Adobe PDF readers(like Microsoft's, but there are other programs too that can open PDF files, I think even MS Word) don't fully support all that advanced functionality, so if you've been using Win10's app with MPMB's sheet, some of the features may not have worked properly. IIRC, not even the mobile(Android/iOS) versions of Adobe's app handle the sheet correctly.

I don't know what the policy is about external links on here, but if you do a web search for "Acrobat Reader DC" you should have no trouble finding a link to download it, and you'll be able to keep on using MPMB's sheet just fine :)

I'm not even sure if this is the right place to bring up this question but I hope that it is. Is the original character sheet still available on the Patreon? I can't seem to find it anywhere and that's the version that my DM uses. I don't like having to make him fill my characters out on there just because I don't have the sheet myself. I became a patreon hoping to find it there but no such luck. And then checking enworld through the provided link really just tells me that I have to donate again to get it. But how much is that? It's all very confusing to me. Any help here would be appreciated.

Hi Purple, I originally bought your Character Sheet Tools on the DM's Guild, and just recently updated to v12.999. I just noticed that there seems to be a bug in the spell sheet (re)generation. When leveling up a character from 3rd to 4th, they should get a third 2nd-level spell slot, but it stays at two 2nd-level slots. I don't know if this is a general bug with leveling or not. I tried regenerating the spell sheet, then deleted it and recreated it (within the same Acrobat session. I'll try deleting, saving, then recreating from a new Acrobat session next, but can you take a look and see if it's a fixable bug? Thanks.

Hi ClaytonCross,

This looks like an interesting idea, but not easy to implement. I'll add it to the (very long) wishlist of features for the sheet. The wishlist is something that subscribers to my Patreon can vote upon and than I add the feature(s) most voted for.

I don't think that this feature will work for anything but classes that have spells known. You don't want to have all you spellbook spells listed with prepared spells in-between, that would just get confusing. Even if all the spells from 'known' classes are marked as 'always prepared', it would be a problem if things appear on both lists or are rituals for one class but not for the other, and would generally serve as a point of confusion.
Combining, for example, the Bard and Sorcerer known spells would be a good idea, however, so I'm all for this feature. The only thing is that it would require some pretty big changes in how the spell sheets are generated, so it is not something that I can code in less than a day or two ;)

The sheets are available for free here on ENworld, you don't need to donate. Just go to this download page on ENworld and click on the name of the PDF document under the header "Files" (e.g. click on "MPMB's Character Record Sheet (v12.999) [Colorful - A4].pdf").

Note that ENworld has an annoying bug that doesn't let you download files if you are logged in with an account that doesn't have a verified email address. Solution to this: just log out of ENworld and try again!

You also mention to be a subscribed on my Patreon. Thank you for that! You can find the sheets on my Patreon as well, attached to this post right here. For that post to be visible, you will have to be logged in to Patreon.
Just click on the orange links to the PDF documents at the bottom of the Patreon post next to the paperclip icon (e.g. click on "MPMB's Character Record Sheet (v12.999) [Colorful - A4].pdf").

You also mention "original character sheet" but I don't know what you mean with that. I would recommend using the latest version, as it got the most features and most recent bug fixes. Perhaps you are referring to the fact that it only contains the SRD content and you think the 'original' is the one that contained all the content?

You should know that the sheet doesn't determine the amount of spell slots when generating the spell sheet. The amount is determined when levelling up/down. (Re-)generating the spell sheets will never change the amount of spell slots shown. You can manually change the amount of slots using the Modifier fields. These Modifier fields are hidden by default and you can toggle their visibility with the "Mods" button in the 'JavaScript Window'-toolbar and with the "Modifiers" bookmark.

An older version of the sheet had a bug where changing subclass from one archetype to another of the same class could result in the wrong amount of spell slots. I thought I had fixed this issue, but perhaps that is not the case. Did you change the archetype of your character? If not, is there some way you can get a freshly downloaded sheet to only have two 2nd-level slots at level 4 of a spellcaster, because I'm unable to get the sheets to do that.

Likely a more popular idea than my last, But any chance you could make another page for contained inventory. I am currently using EXTRA EQUIPMENT on page 3 as a bag of holding and OTHER HOLDINGS as a camp site supply but both are a bit small to I am always trying to condense my inventory with short hand. Of course part of that is because I have been the parties treasurer.

...So if you added a new optional Inventory page that could beak down for Bags of holding, handy haversack's, Keeps, Camps, Saddle Bags, and packs for beasts of burden maybe by just changing headers for columns, I could make good use of it. Even more so if you had a way to drop the weight of party funds into one of those using a column selection tab or something but with perhaps a column down one side to trace all the coins like the personal carried sheet. (I also find a total value in gold, counter really useful for party funds so you can easily announce to the group what they have to work with)

Then on page 3, You could go 7 down for feats so the fighter could fill up on them, go 2 high 3 across the bottom for magic items to allow 6 for the artificer class to fill up on attuned items or other classes to have 3 attuned and 3 non-attuned, and extend the notes section down because I know I am always running out of room there for multi-class builds.

--Also, I joined your patron, well worth it. As others have stated its already the best sheet around and its only getting better. Same user name.

Hi Purple, that's the thing. I did level up by adding new XP to the character sheet and it didn't detect a change to the spell sheet going from 3rd to 4th level. As a test, I added more XP to update things to level 5, and it did add the 3th level spell slots correctly, but it left the 2nd level slots at 2 instead of 3. Is this what was intended?
