Lore You Should Know: Giff Correction, Cormyr, Gnomes and Halflings, silly D&D

What the hell is the hin ghost war?

http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/Hin_Ghostwar

It was a ancient civil war in the Halfling (who are at times refered to as the Hin) nation of Luiren, between on one side the Stout and Lightfoot Halflings and on the other by the Halfling hunting Ghostwise Halflings, who were lead by Desva a priest of Malar, an evil god of the hunt.

The Ghostwise lost the war, their Priest leader was killed and most, but not all, the Ghostwise left Luiren for the Chondalwoid, after vowing not to speal until they'd atoned for their crimes.

By the time the Ghostwise had atoned, they'd developed telepathy to communicate snd they prefer it to regular speech.

Also Ghostwise Halflings are more tribal and uncivilized then Stout and Lightfoot Halflings.

Ghostwise Halflings also like riding Giant Owls which is pretty cool.

Without having followed the link, is the Giff correction about whether they're pronounced with a hard G or a soft G?
Off the top of my head, as I find them extremely hard to listen to, it's actually correcting that the Giff do have their own ship, the Giff Great Bombard.

What I got out of the Cormyr part, especially at the very end, was that they were very strongly hinting that we'll be seeing something regarding that region in the near-but-not-immediate future ("As we continue to expand outward from the North" was the exact quote). They do tend to have Lore You Should Know segments as something of previews, so I wouldn't be surprised if we see Cormyr (and, since they did talk about them a good amount during the segment, the Dalelands and Cormanthor) in an upcoming product in the next year or so. And, as a fan of the setting, that would make me very happy, as that general region is one of the two main hearts of the setting (along with the Sword Coast and North).
Possibly a reference to the Tales of Myth Drannor adventure modules book?

I'd like to find out if the pre-Spellplague boy-king's promise/threat to enact 'trial by a jury of your peers' ever came to fruition.
There are plot threads to be had, if nobles have to explain themselves to a Court (or gasp apologize) after being a boor to some peasant, can't just use their blueblood as a 'get out of jail free' card.

Dear Lord I hope they stay away from a Cormyr.

If the in-house designers can’t recall the name of THE Purple Dragon, best not let them write adventures or sourcebooks for the place.

All the same, I am glad they covered Cormyr as part of their discussion.

Actual The Purple Dragon ironically was a Black Dragon so old some of it's scales has turned purple, not an actual Purple Dragon aka a Deep dragon.

Yeah but the book is refering to conflicts that are major and ongoing. A minor civil war on one material plane world is not the sort of thing they are talking about.
