Drow and an Archdevil previews

It's funny, but with already a large number of Bestiary chapter previews, we still haven't seen anything past the "D" section or page 185!

Drow are in the Elves section, or at least they were in the MM

The preview at the start of the thread shows "D" at the bottom of the page for the drow pages. So, they're doing it differently in MtoF for some reason...

If Asmodeus is still a God, then he's beyond stats.

I believe it was mentioned that he has power equivalent to a lesser god, but was not one (that could have been Archdukes in general though). Lesser gods can have stats in 5e: Tiamat

Zariel a CR 26 foe?!? Holy Cow! I mean, since Avernus is the layer most likely to come under attack by outside forces, it kind of makes sense to have the boss be a major bad-ass, but still! If SHE'S that tough, how much tougher must ASMODEUS be!!! And what about the other Ruling Lords of the Nine, such as Mephistopeles, Dispater, etc?

The CR spread for the demon lords was pretty small. I would expect the same for the archdukes

That being said, I think I am going to be disappointed and they will have Asmodeus with a higher CR than Demogorgon, which just rankles me. I'm old school and like my Demogorgon with 1 more hit point and one better (or -1 better) AC.

That being said, I think I am going to be disappointed and they will have Asmodeus with a higher CR than Demogorgon, which just rankles me. I'm old school and like my Demogorgon with 1 more hit point and one better (or -1 better) AC.

That was pre Greater Godhood for Asmodeus, he should be more powerful then Tiamat and Demogorgan by far if they stat him up, potentially by a lot.

I believe at least in FR he's a Greater God, not lesser.

The designers have stated, for general D&D purposes, that he is a lesser good, like Tiamat.

As far as I know, he is not in 5e. The monster manual stats: "Asmodeus is the supreme ruler of all devils, and the only creature in the Nine Hells with the powers of a lesser god."

Of course, does that mean that Tiamat is no longer in the Nine Hells?

Like I said, that would be disappointing to me. I believe the Asmo love-fest will continue, but he will always be a chump next to my 2-head sibilant beast
