D&D 5E Art and Arcana: A visual History just arrived!

Just got it in the mail. A very large, nicely put together book going over the art history of D&D. I thought initially it was just going to be a collection of art over the years. But I was very pleasantly surprised. There is a lot of history and information there. Not only just the art, but what inspired the art, how it came to be, and much more. If you're a fan, you have to get this book. You just have to.

For example, I never knew how Strange Tales was the inspiration for the early illustrations. This is the kind of gold you will find in this book

I got mine today from Amazon. I’ve only had time to flip through it, but it looks really nice. I have the special edition one with the extra goodies.

Honestly, the book is so full of anecdotes and historical passages (for literally everything), that that alone would be worth the price. The fact that it also includes every form of media for D&D in it's history (from hand held video games to cartoons to comics to actual D&D game art) is a huge bonus.

I paid $63.50 shipped plus tax. It’s definitely heavy and comes in a sturdy case. It comes with a little Tomb of Horrors notebook / sketchbook as well as a bunch of mini-posters. Not sure if it’s worth the $30 more but cool nonetheless.
