Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: Sorcerer and Warlock

There's a new Unearthed Arcana from WotC today, hot on the heels of the recent one for barbarian and monk. "Two classes, the sorcerer and the warlock, discover new playtest possibilities this week. The Aberrant Mind sorcerer...meh. Flavorful? Maybe, but meh. It is almost exactly like the Dragon sorc, but with slime and psionics. It's capstone is...different?

The Lurker warlock...

I like it. It is different enough from the other patrons that it makes it interesting. Very flavorful, but I would possibly tweak the spell selection.

Interesting.

Very Cthulhu vibe to both of them. Warlock reminds me of Shadow Over Innsmouth.

And the Sorcerer reminds me of ... um ... a GOO Warlock. So, there's that. :)

Definitely pushing the psionic / Lovecraftian angle. IMO.
I noticed that too! This makes me wonder what the next adventure path or book could be (after Eberron, of course).

It's about time that the Sorcerer gets freed up to enter the design space the Warlock was squating on in the PHB: give us Fey and Fiendish Sorcerers, too!
