D&D General WotC Asks What Makes YOU Play Dungeons and Dragons?

WotC has a new survey asking about what you want from D&D -- "Extra extra! The D&D team wants to know what makes YOU play Dungeons & Dragons! The open world? Character customization? Shared storytelling with friends? Iconic art? Take our survey and help shape the future of what we're working on at Wzards. Please share to help us spread the word and hear from more fans."...

Gaming is fun, and fun is for everyone
I'm not particularly excited by the Blood Hunter, but I don't see how "should" enters the equation: if the DMsGuild and Beyond data show WotC that people like the concept, why not?

I forgot to add the criticism that people complain it is pretty unbalanced. Never used it myself so can't prove that.

There were some weird questions in there which did worry me a little bit like "Do you create your own PCs?". I mean what the naughty word excuse me? Do you think my valet creates my PCs for me or something? That's awful - obviously he gets his own character! :)

There are a lot of people out there who rely on friends/SO's to create characters for them.

Dig the picture. Suppose that's from the newspaper group patron in Eberron Rising from the Last War.

The tweet for the survey did say this is a new piece of art that is used in the Eberron book.

As for the actual survey, I thought there were not enough ways to say that Forgotten Realms is the bestest settings and none of the others are needed.

And for favorite supplement of all time, since I started in the early days of 1st Ed AD&D, I had to say Unearthed Arcana because it expanded things so much, no matter how unbalanced some people think it was, plus it was the first non-core book I ever owned.

Very cool survey, hope that helps them make plans.

Interesting things to note:

- for "favorite D&D setting", Tal'Dorei/Exandria was an option.

- for "favorite Class", Warlord and Blood Hunter were options.
I was pretty annoyed that Tal'Dorei/Exandria was an option for "favorite D&D setting,” but Nentir Vale wasn’t except as a write-in “other.” But I was very pleased that Warlord was available as an option for “favorite Class.”
