For example, if there were multiple, credible allegations of child abuse, would you still let that person watch your kids? Or do you need a conviction first?
If you found evidence that someone was embezzling from you at work, but the police didn't want to prosecute, would you keep the person employed because, hey, no conviction?
Do you refuse to form opinions about any person you know unless and until they are convicted of a crime because, hey, due process?
