In 1e & 2e, drow were CE, but I think that changed in 3e. Now they're LE. It's a change that I do not like, and do not use.

Oh good. Im not going madder. I could have sworn they were CE. I mostly dm and mostly play 3/3.5 and i always have had the drow be CE as a society.

The abeils are humanoids with traits mixing elves and bees (MM II 3rd. Ed). And the mantis humanoids are the thri-kreen (with subraces in Dark Sun). And the werevermins were in some articles published in WotC web. The formians aren't a playable race, is it?

My ex gf had a similar perspective to yours. She was also half black and felt similarly. She also felt (as do i) drow would be more or less not comparable to humans (as they are fey) and that if you had to force a comparison to any group pf humans they would more reasonably be compared to a european tribe the norse encountered as many fey are inspired by specifically local tribes europeans encountered. Not far off peoples.

But also there was the strong sentiment that comparing black and part black people to fantasy races was actually the weird and offensove part. They are different as can be and one is in fact real and possibly has opinions of their own on the matter.

Exactly, its just goofy to compare fantasy races to real people.

Depends on the manner in which its done and other factors. But yes. It can be quite goofy. NOT ALWAYS. I have to say that. On the whole i agree. In specific scenarios well, like i said, it depends.

Doesn't count. They are just altered drow. Therefore not viable for a seperate big type for a seperate alignment block. Now...if you associate them to a new bug then we're getring somewhere. But otherwise they are just abnormal CE SPIDER BUGELVES. Excuse me.
