one of my favourite characters was a white bearded gnome alchemist (and leader of a circus troupe) who like a lusty caliban was enamoured of sylphs and pixies, so I do approve of this concept.

Personally though I’ve always treated Gnome as fey creatures with an affinity for rock (the gnomes imc beleive they were born from The Rock), I also took inspiration from Smurfs so that while most gnomes are male and hairy, there will be one female gnome in a clan who like Naked Mole Rats becomes the Burrow mother and has an emphatic bond with all her offspring.

Well then. Paracelsian gnomes might be right up your alley (mostly anyway)!

They are fey AND an elemental (earth/stone)

And sylphs are one of the 3 fey they mate with!

I edited mine to go back to the halfling count on post 172, but I can't tell if @Yardiff's 2nd post is just a correction or a double vote?
