"I have to say, Zardnaar, I really admire your wife's lovely pair of big ones! And the fact that they're all natural makes them that much more impressive!"

Just because I enjoyed reading it. ;)

Wow. This gets creepier by the minute. I'm pretty sure there isn't a woman alive who thinks it's amusing for an internet rando to start talking about her breasts. But, to each his own. Feel free to show this to your wife.
Why do you feel I'm standing up for many women? This is white knighting right? I'm speaking for me, nobody else. I'm sure you mean well, but I find this assumption you've made quite strange.

Contradictions in bold.

That's funny. Do you honestly think he meant something else? Come on...

Look, he seems like a nice guy. That response he gave was quite lovely. He just made an error in judgement.

It called a play on words. With 2 meanings available, it is on the reader to decide how to interpret it. But that also means that the reader does not gets to decide what the intention was. Nor does the reader get to decide how everyone else should interpret it.

Personal opinion that may or may not relate; When someone has 2 options and insists that only 1 is true, that reflects more on their subconscious beliefs are than on the original actions.

I both prefer and hate the standard array. The standard array allows for a uniformity in players choice. But it can be a bit bland at times.

If rolling, I would tend toward 4d6 in order drop lowest die. Roll 3 characters take the one you want.

Any one remember the Unearthed Arcana roll table? 9d6 primary stat, 8d6, 7d6, 6d6, 5d6, 4d6 and 3d6? I think that paladins would roll: 8d6 st, 4d6 dex, 6d6 con, 3d6 int, 7d6 wis and 9d6 cha. Imagine with today's stats what it would give you...

When I get around to starting my campaign, they'll be doing stats a bit weird. There will be only 2 newish players so I'll be letting them be above average.

Start with a 6x6 grid. Everyone (including me cause I don't want to left out) will roll and fill in a spot on the grid. When the grid is filled they can each each take a different row, column or angle. They can go forward of back, but must keep them in order. I'll probably allow 2 stats to be swapped once.
The actual roll will be 3d6, re-roll 1 or 2. With restriction that a 3rd 6 must be re-rolled.

The below comments.

I'm pretty sure not many women would feel genuinely relaxed in an environment where guys say things like Richards did.

The below comments.
For sure. I made those comments in the context of what I said about my daughters. What was originally said is for sure offensive to most women. Most definitely... your personal beliefs aside. I'm standing up for my kids, who are women. These comments are demeaning. If you're in the comfort of a group of friends, and you're relaxed enough amongst yourselves to talk like this, great. But when you get out on the internet and start saying this kind of stuff... no. I am the least PC person you'll meet. I take everyone I meet as an individual. White-knighting... this sort of language... it makes my blood boil. It's mob thinking. All I'm doing is genuinely telling you what I think. I find someone getting on to the anonymity of the internet and making goofnuts repressed teenager sexual comments annoying and infuriating. It's not stuff this guy would say to someone's face.

Academically, yes. In this case... please. You're deluding yourself.

Given the situation we're discussing in this thread, I guess I can probably get away with stating the following:
I made my silly comment only because the opportunity presented itself and I thought it would be funny.
. . .
What I am is an avid punster who occasionally allows his love of wordplay to overcome his better sensibilities.

He effectively said he was making a joke at the beginning, and then replied that it was fact a joke. Yet you keep insisting that you are mind reader and refuse to take his statements at face value.

@Richards Sorry about the repeated quoting. Hopefully this the last of it. Something of this situation got under my skin and needed scratching at.

I do intend to let this drop here unless a different point is brought up.

I've also repeatedly said he was making a joke. I've also repeatedly said it was a joke made in poor taste and with a lack of sound judgement. No claims of mind reading here.

I'm good. I was happy to let it drop after the mod dropped in, but Sadras decided to keep the conversation going for some reason.

I'm also fully ready to let this matter drop but I do feel the need to make a few corrections to statements said about me:
I find someone getting on to the anonymity of the internet and making goofnuts repressed teenager sexual comments annoying and infuriating.

For the record, my name is Johnathan Richards. My EN World screen name is "Richards" and I sign my posts "Johnathan." There is absolutely no "internet anonymity" involved in my posts. And we've already discussed the wordplay aspect of my "goofnuts repressed teenager sexual comments" so hopefully there's no need to belabor that point any further.
It's not stuff this guy would say to someone's face.

And here, Ulorian, I fear you are making assumptions about me again. :) The pull of verbal wordplay is a strong one indeed and I have been known to roll a natural "1" on my saving throws on occasion.

Okay, that was it. Dropping the matter in three...two...one...NOW!

Johnathan
