D&D 5E Dragon + is (probably) coming this or next week... and with it the next D&D book announcement

Just wanted to point this out; the next Dragon + magazine is coming soon! Or at least, probably soon. Typically, Dragon + releases every two months, though there are some exceptions. If it holds to its normal release pattern, the next issue with drop either this week (likely Friday), or slightly morel likely, sometime next week. I actually did did the math, averaging the releases of the past year (average is February 13th, next Wednesday).

"I don't care about Dragon+ though," some of you are thinking... well here's why you should, at least for this one (this is the promo for this issue, from last issue);

Things are starting to become clear for the next issue of Dragon+. We guess that’s what happens when you have a 2020 vision. Ba dum tss!
We’ll actually be looking at the world through Max Dunbar’s eyes when we return next year. Our Issue 30 cover star has been redrawing the retro monsters from the Fiend Folio and word on the street is they’re black and white and “kinda goofy”—we can’t wait!
We’ll also be rolling a Persuasion check to convince Kate Welch to reveal all about her latest project (and while we’re at it get her to put a pin in a map of the coolest place she’s ever played D&D, something we’ll be asking everyone connected to the game to reveal).
We’ll take a peek inside Beadle & Grimm’s Eberron: Rising from the Last War Gold Set, meet a very special dragon with a few years on the clock, and preview the Waterdeep-based adventures of D&D Dice Masters.
There’s all this, plus more exclusive previews, another delve into the imposing Dragon archive, all our regulars such as the best streaming highlights, and much, much more!

That's right; another announcement. So buckle your seatbelts, and get on-board the hype train!

Somehow I feel like that comment is not actually about the next D&D book. It seems like a clickbait-y type announcement of an announcement that will inevitably result in a let-down. It’s probably some project she’s been working on as a hobby or something.

On a Spoilers & Swag, Welch already admitted she's working on a book that contains adventures written by several different authors, including Marisha Ray and Deborah Ann Woll. I'm assuming this "new project" is this book.

I feel like the "we'll be asking everyone connected to the game to reveal" also hints they'll be talking to some of those other authors.

“Everyone connected to the game” doesn’t sound like they’ll be talking about a book. Has she been consulting on one of the D&D games that’s in production? Maybe she got her character put into that Warriors of Waterdeep game, or Idle Champions?

It is possible that it could be a tease for a future announcement, but I would be surprised if we didn't get some new information about the book project she is working on. Personally i am expecting a little info about the project and the release date. But I could see them holding off on giving the release date and just saying available "spring of 2020" or something similar.

Speaking of, did we even get a new Spoilers and Swag this month? Or even this year?

Something may be brewing...

That just sounds like they're going to do a deeper preview of the Wildemount book, unless they've specifically been working on something else.

That feels more like 'every time we interview someone this year, we'll try to remember to ask this question' kind of thing that will probably fade away fairly quickly.
