I think in most folks mind, the fact that Lovecraft is dead and his IP is (arguably) in the Public Domain makes a big difference here. He, and his estate, get no support from use of the IP.

To be frank if the IP had to be licensed from his estate, companies still would. Depsite lovecrafts views.
Almost all of HPL's work has exited copyright protections due to age. A good chunk of his contemporaries' works have, as well..

Bledso's work is all still under copyright, and if it's used, Bledso is entitled to compensation.
 

I believe you are in North America. (If not, humour me for a second) Do you eat food grown there? All the land is effectively stolen. All the food grown is thus tainted.

And if you are in Europe the Indo -European speakers there now stole the land from the Early European Farmers. Who stole it from the Western Hunter Gatherers.
