D&D 5E Is Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden the New D&D Adventure?

It looks likely that the upcoming D&D adventure is indeed an Icewind Dale based storyline called Rime of the Frostmaiden!

It looks likely that the upcoming D&D adventure is indeed an Icewind Dale based storyline called Rime of the Frostmaiden! I can't vouch for the veracity of this, but I was cc'd into a Tweet by Navy DM on Twitter who says they found it on Reddit.

Feel the cold touch of death in this adventure for the world's greatest role playing game.

UPDATE -- the awesome Geek Native ran the small cover screenshot through an image enhancing application, to create the larger image below.

There's a post here on Reddit which says "The DnD Beyond YouTube channel posted a trailer for a new book, Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden, then immediately deleted it." The post has been removed since. I found the above image posted by somebody called smightmight, who looks like they screen grabbed it from the video before it was removed.

The Frostmaiden is one of the names of Auril, an evil goddess in the Forgotten Realms. You can read more about her on the Forgotten Realms wiki.

Rime is ice which forms from water droplets on surfaces.

An Icewind Dale setting was the current favourite guess for the location of the new D&D adventure based on various hints from WotC, including this snowy owlbear t-shirt!

(thanks to Pixellance for pointing me at this!)

I have a source but not going to reveal. However, the source doesn't know if this book IS a 1-10+ type campaign book or a loose conglomerate of adventures.

No offense mate, but unless you can provide information other than "I know this name/cover is true" (which D&D's instagram has essentially confirmed already) then your source isn't exactly helpful.

Used if it's posted earlier.

Lots of spoilers for lots of things turn up on Reddit.

Who posting it, when and how accurate matters.

Thanks for the tip though. I will take a look at those adventures.
Glad I may have persuaded you! I'm sure others can advise you about which other adventures from other seasons form similar "arcs." In fact, I just started a new thread to ask about it:

(I assume you've also checked Ghosts of Saltmarsh? It also has adventures that can be strung together in a similar way.)

If you look up the specific adventures I mentioned, be warned that "The Executioner" is considered one of the worst adventures in AL; although it has been revised and is now better than its original version, it still pretty much assumes that the PCs are going to behave in a certain way and doesn't prepare the GM for alternate possibilities. But both "The Beast" 'and "The Marionette" are, IMHO, standouts, so dealing with "The Executioner" is a necessary evil. I've got a thread talking about my experiences with this AL season here:

If we can figure out how to make a vampiric owlbear with ram features, we can figure out the plot
Well maybe is stylish take on the winterclaw owlbear from 4e essentials. I don’t know if they ever released art for it. It also had huge size so it fits with the giant in the pic. Lol
