D&D 5E Time for Non Forgotten Realms Adventure Paths?

The OP said Forgotten Realms. Almost every post is reply has taken that to mean Sword Coast instead of FR in general.

Earlier in the thread I posted links to 3 well developed and backed non-FR worlds with extensive adventure support. Unless you insist on WoTC only (Adventurers' League ...), then there are a lot of other options.

I think the OP is explicitly insisting on WoTC only.

It's not a matter of other options, the OP said he would I like to see WotC publish adventure paths for places other than FR.

So would I.

Its not a matter of conversion, or relocation, I use a homebrew world, so everything they publish has to be "tweaked". Thats not a concern.

I would like to see WotC use their resources and talent in other worlds, and I would like to see how it turns out.

EDIT: misquoted OP.

It's coming eventually. Probably in another 2 to 3 years if history is any indication.

- People wanted a new player-focused book of mechanics pretty soon after 5E arrived. They had to wait several years for Xanathar's, but eventually it came.

- People then wanted new campaign setting books after that. They had to wait several years for Ravnica, Eberron, Wildemount, and Theros, but eventually they came.

- People now want a new adventure path in one of these different settings. Now you just have to wait several years for it and eventually it will come.

Basically, anything that folks here on the boards start really clamoring for are already in WotC's pipeline... they just are on their 2-years-ahead timetable and you'll see them arrive in two years.

Except for Warlords. Those aren't showing up no matter how often people clamor for them. ;)

2-3 years to set up Dice Sets, and Maps, and miniatures so on and so forth.

An Eberron AP released with the Eberron book would make better financial sense then waiting 3 years post setting book to release an adventure product. Not exactly striking while the the iron is hot.🤫

My only issue with DM's Guild items is there are so many, and variance in quality is bound to be an issue.

Primarily I would like an AP that is less gazetteer and more adventure.
Setting an AP in Calimishan, or Cormyr...is likely not going to solve the Crunch to Fluff ratio.

While we are wishing for ponies, can we make it for levels 9-20 instead of 1-11? At this point there are a number of options for getting a campaign off the ground.

I would like to see a high level adventure that IS NOT about saving the world. Explore arcane mysteries and weird environments. Befriend powerful beings and fight deranged immortals. Go toe to toe with legendary monsters and come home in time for dinner.

I do not care what setting they use for APs as long as their portable. I think they have mostly done a decent job of this. A lot of folks use home-brewed settings. When adventures are tied closely to a given setting it makes the module less usable.

This is likely the main reason for the FR focus. It's a lot easier to add, say, Eberron elements that take them out.

He actually does not say that. Many people assume that only WoTC makes D&D things, but not posters here. I can see how you could assume that was what was meant. I posted to remind that there are actually non-WoTC options.

Considering how the OP mentioned Eberron, and that setting can only be published by WotC or the DMsGuild, it seems pretty clear he's talking about WotC-made adventures. Pretty much everyone understands you can buy things that are third-party for other settings.

I think Eberron will be the second after FR. It is enough open to allow a lot of different things. It's relatively new, and the fandom allows to add new things without troubles about "this is not my Star Wars".

Ravenloft, Dragonlance and Dark Sun will come back, but not in this phase yet.

Birthright will be adapted for a real time strategy videogame.

Councyl of Wyrms will return as "Iomandra", but WotC has to be clear about the complete list of dragons to be "updated" to the last edition. (I know nothing about a children cartoon based of councyl of wyrms with cute little dragons).

Greyhawk is like a sanctuary. Who dares to alter the world created by Gary Gygax? At least the metaplot will be frozen for a lot of time. It's possible to be adapted into videogames.

Mystara is different but not enough to be interesting, but the spin-off Red Steel/Savage Coast and Hollow World. This last one is perfect for players who wants to play Conan the Barbarian with the dinosaurs from Jurasic Park. Maybe WotC and Capcom could talk about this.
