I had a waha character in RQ2 that kept fumbling with a lance, and came to be known as Onastik.

Another RQ2 character was a Goldentongue lord of Issaries called Ham. He invented an innovative, distributed reverse-funnel order fulfilment system called Ham's Way. He made a critical Oratory roll at Dragons Eye and got all the Dragon Newts involved, but nobody else was interested.
At the time one of our friends had gotten involved in a MLM scheme and was pestering us to join.

A friend of mine had a drow character named Zaxxon in my campaign.

For a while in the 80s I used names off my book shelf for NPC names. I had a half-elven assassin known as The Editor who trained the PC assassin brothers in my game.

In my last campaign I was straight out using movie stars or characters as NPCs in my Carrion Crown game. Professor Lorrimor became professor Jones, his daughter Kendra became Jessica Jones, the Necromancer bad guy was Jack Nicholson, creepy patron was Christopher Walken, a mad man was Robin Williams, an Alchemy professor they went to for research help was Professor Lewis who they bribed with nuts only to find out he had a nut allergy, and when they looked for a faculty Doctor they found steampunk goggled Doctor Whitaker who was a doctor of most everything.
