I agree, but I'm not inclined to insist that players use paper sheets if they don't want to. OTOH, we use real dice even while we're gaming around a VTT. Also, I have a dice-roller app that I've made presets in for monsters, which makes randomizing monster HP much quicker.

Which is why I prefer tablets over mobile phones for this, though face-id has made this less annoying.

I get more annoyed with distracting pop-up messages etc. My players are pretty good about this. If it really annoyed me, I could always set my Router security on the guest connection to block everything except D&D Beyond. But if I had to do that, I think I'd just ban electronic devices or find new players.

Huh, I didn't think of it like that. I thought they meant an app for an in-game calender (like the Mithril Almanac).

Yeah, this made it hard for me to answer it. I use Google Calendar every session. Well, after every session, to schedule the next.

But I also use an time-weather-moon app in my VTT.

So...I guess, in the end, it doesn't matter how I read it, the answer will be yes. (shrug)

I answered the gender, age and race questions at the end though I considered not. They can use this information to either determine what demographic theyre lacking and disregard my answers and go after them or actually take my answers to heart. We'll see. Id be curious to see how younger people/newer players think of older settings too. Id assume most are exposed to them because they play with older gamers. I wouldnt imagine theyd get much exposure to them from watching gaming online.

Yeah, I should have said I was 25 so my preference would be weighted higher. :-\

Hmm. Took the survey again, this time RPing as a 23 year old white male me only familiar with FR/Eberron, who's only heard of Crawford & Gygax. Don't DM. Only use digital stuff "sometimes".
Got 31 questions.

This is a fun game, let's see how many branches are on this tree. Like reading all the pages in a Choose Your Own Adventure book. :)

Let's see what happens if I go completely fictitious.
