WHAT WONDERFUL WITCHERY IS THIS?

A magical mixture of rules options for the world's greatest roleplaying game.

The wizard Tasha, whose great works include the spell Tasha’s hideous laughter, has gathered bits and bobs of precious lore during her illustrious career as an adventurer. Her enemies wouldn’t want these treasured secrets scattered across the multiverse, so in defiance, she has collected and codified these tidbits for the enrichment of all.
  • EXPANDED SUBCLASSES. Try out subclass options for every Dungeons & Dragons class, including the artificer, which appears in the book.
  • MORE CHARACTER OPTIONS. Delve into a collection of new class features and new feats, and customize your character’s origin using straightforward rules for modifying a character’s racial traits.
  • INTRODUCING GROUP PATRONS. Whether you're part of the same criminal syndicate or working for an ancient dragon, each group patron option comes with its own perks and types of assignments.
  • SPELLS, ARTIFACTS & MAGIC TATTOOS. Discover more spells, as well as magic tattoos, artifacts, and other magic items for your campaign.
  • EXPANDED RULES OPTIONS. Try out rules for sidekicks, supernatural environments, natural hazards, and parleying with monsters, and gain guidance on running a session zero.
  • A PLETHORA OF PUZZLES. Ready to be dropped into any D&D adventure, puzzles of varied difficulty await your adventurers, complete with traps and guidance on using the puzzles in a campaign.
Full of expanded content for players and Dungeon Masters alike, this book is a great addition to the Player's Handbook and the Dungeon Master’s Guide. Baked in you'll find more rule options for all the character classes in the Player's Handbook, including more subclass options. Thrown in for good measure is the artificer class, a master of magical invention. And this witch's brew wouldn't be complete without a dash of added artifacts, spellbook options, spells for both player characters and monsters, magical tattoos, group patrons, and other tasty goodies.

IMO Eberron has way more than a few player options, but yeah if the only thing from it someone likes (which makes them a weirdo) is Artificer, then buying a whole book for that makes no sense.
Depends. Do you want to play as a half-werecreature, a sentient robot, a goblinoid, an orc, an Arabian Nights elf, a voodoo elf, a doppleganger by any other name, or a Yerk Controller who has made peace with their host and turned against Viser-3?

Because otherwise, the Artificer is the only thing going for you in the book…

Cool! Troika! has the same concept - dwarves make dwarves.
Who or what is Troika! besides a Russian folkdance, a Russian carriage horse-driving figuration, or a Soviet-inspired triumvirate?

Worse case scenario if that happens, do what I'll do if Rune Knight got nerfed hard: Use the UA version. Maybe add in the buffed portions with the non nerfed UA parts of it and there ya go!
Outside of AL, I assume this is what everyone does when they prefer the UA version. Frankly, there's no reason to get upset about UA -> book nerfs unless you're reliant on that book being your PHB+1 in organized play.

It's a DM book, filled with loads of quite lootable content, whether Eberron is one's Setting of choice. Player Class options are not worth the cover price, the DM stuff I the meat.

I don't think I remember the Beast Barbarian...

I liked the Star Druid too, even if I'm not interested in playing druids again for a while, so I hope it doesn't change too much.

It was from the UA between the Psionic Wizard and the Unity Cleric.

They had a bestial shift when they raged, growing claws that let them make an additional attack when they took the attack action, a tail that was a reach weapon or teeth that I think gave them temp hp.

This allowed for a few different builds, one of which being a small sized barbarian with a 1d10 natural reach weapon, but also a tankier barb with self-healing and a barb with natural three attacks. It was quite solidly designed.

Worse case scenario if that happens, do what I'll do if Rune Knight got nerfed hard: Use the UA version. Maybe add in the buffed portions with the non nerfed UA parts of it and there ya go!

Oh sure, I do that with the samurai anyways. Still aggravating to have to remember to check my notes instead of the book the class is in

Glad to expand: Troika! is a roleplaying system/setting that is based on the advanced fighting fantasy system, itself based on the choose your own adventure book series by Steve Jackson.

It is wonderfully zany. Science Fantasy RPG | TROIKA!

You roll for your background (your "class"). If you want to try it, roll a d6 twice and tell me the result :)

Here is a sort of review I wrote on the topic: Yoon Suin and Troika!

I said "a couple" because that's how many are being reprinted in Tasha's as I understand it - the Artificer, and Group Patrons.

It's not so much the power level I'm worried about, rather that after what happened to the Psi Dice I'm wary of mechanics being simplified to the point of being unfathomably bland.
