D&D 5E 3 Classic Settings Coming To 5E?

The video below is an 11-hour video, but the information comes in the last hour for those who want to scrub through.

Additionally, Liz Schuh said there would be more anthologies, as well as more products to enhance game play that are not books.

Winninger mentioned more products aimed at the mainstream player who can't spend immense amount of time absorbing 3 tomes.

Ray and Liz confirmed there will be more Magic: The Gathering collaborations.

No, really, there won't be. There might be complaints that 5e Dark Sun isn't grimdark or hardcore enough, but that's the fault of the ruleset and can't be helped.
They could provide a bunch of new rules for DS (variant for regular play) that make it grimdark, but I don't think they will. So I don't think would simply be a fault of the ruleset. WotC has to choose what level of grimdark they are willing to go for in a setting.

Personally I think DS would be a great way to showcase you grimdark you can go with 5e, but I just don't think WotC will do it. I think we will find out fairly soon, like 1-3 years ;)

Mystara, Birthright and Dragonlance don't seem relevant enough. I would be very surprised if we saw them.
The only thing that makes me hesitate there is that we did see that Birthright guidebook recently, out of nowhere. Also, we know there's a Mystara guidebook out there just waiting for WotC's blessing.

I will only believe when I see. What would they want to say with "attention"? After all those years I have lost all hope of seeing an updated version of the classic settings....
.... and also tired of being told to use the old books. If we use only old material 5e would have never existed! So please stop it!

If We the People don't finally get our official "Greyhawk" source book, I am going to revolt. ;)
Mike Mearls is a great lover of Greyhawk and very well-informed about its lore. As someone alluded to earlier, he has made some interesting comments during a DragonTalk interview and elsewhere about how he thinks some of the elements that make Greyhawk unique were not served well through the campaign box set/sourcebook model, which obscured the unique elements and rendered Greyhawk into a setting akin to the Forgotten Realms.

I thought those comments were interesting and I think it would be fascinating if they could delve into Greyhawk in a way that is unique if that method would communicate some elements special about the setting that would not be served well by a standard book.

That being said, I am simply hoping that Spelljammer and Dark Sun will be included. If they want to combine Spelljammer and Planescape, that's fine by me, but the feel of the Illithid and Elven empires seem different than the Planescape factions, but if it is done well, that's fine. But, Spelljammer always appealed to me from the day it went on sale and I got it and started running adventures in wild space. It seemed like a unique contribution to the game that drew from all manner of settings and developments over the years. I have been hoping that the ship combat rules in Ghosts of Saltmarsh were also going to serve as a way to prepare for Spelljammer, with its emphasis on ship-to-ship combat.

I mean simple things like “you can only take a long rest if you are in a realivly safe place with access to food and water

I know im in the minority but I hope we get a proper FR setting book to take the place of Sword Coast adventures guide.

I definitely want a Greyhawk setting for sure. I have the old pdf but it would be nice to have something physical in my library. I have a problem of forgetting about the pdf cause I can't physically pull it out and flip through the pages.

If we get a Planescape setting i hope its an actual box set with the original artist from the 2e box set. To me that art style made Planescape.
