I didn't even spot the Artificer's Armourer subclass, I'm getting major ironman vibes from it. The spell list itself makes me think of various things ironman has done in the comics. I guess this is one marvel character where no one is going to argue which class/subclass he is.

For $50 (especially compared to the cheaper costs on other platforms), Roll20 can keep it. At nearly twice the cost on other services, what was an "almost buy" has become an "ignore" from me.
As of now, roll20 doesn't support initial racial modifier changes (original alterations) either, even though the rest of the book is there. Which has a lot of people upset. Especially as you mention, the price tag is twice that of other places (beyond for example)

Yep. The artificer in one of my games recently switched to the UA version of the armorer subclass. We're waiting till we can view the final version before deciding if we'll switch to that or stick with the UA version.

Problem language. From Chapter 4. Your group’s enjoyment is paramount, so make these rules your own, aiming to match your group’s tastes.....So shut up DM. You wants and tastes has no say in this cauldron.
...During session zero, your role is to let the players build the characters they want and to help them come up with explanations for how their characters came together to form an adventuring party......
Sorry DMs Tasha's say the players rule and you drool. Insert DM vs players rant.

The section starts with "Establish boundaries. And if anyone crosses them, speak up. If they don’t listen, there’s always cloudkill …" so I'm not sure I see the issue. ;)

On a more serious notes, it discusses setting limits pretty extensively, I think the wording is only problematic if taken out of context.

Reading more since I was home late last night and didn't have much chance to look through it, I'm still not overly fond of the wizard order of scribes. Some parts are fine but the whole awakened spellbook I think is dumb. Might end up banning this subclass and create a homebrew version that replaces awakened spellbook with something else.

Like everything else in the book, that's optional.

Well, on page 4, in bold letters, it says everything in the book is optional and it's up to the group, "guided by the DM" to decided what to use.

According to a number of people on this board and the general consensus about dnd in general, the game is "supposedly" about the players and not the world and all in it.

Hence the "monster don't need class levels" or "man DMpc's suck. How dare the NPC upstage the PCs This DM sucks."

I think a lot of those people forget that the DM is a player too but because we call the ones running the PCs people tend to completely seperate them. You're not going to have a fun game if the DM isn't into it, conversely if the players aren't interested in the world but the DM is, you're going to run into a similar situation. In both situations the game breaks down and the campaign ends.

That's not how I would read any of that. Without having the greater context of the book, I am assuming that the DM is in fact part of the group, and the DM's tastes and enjoyment should also be considered.
And what's wrong with having the players build the characters they want? We've been doing that since the TSR days. (Even if the explanation for how the characters come together has sometimes been as simple as "you meet in a tavern.")
