D&D 5E What Single Thing Would You Add

Bloodied.

Not just as an easy measure for "this creature is visibly wounded" (which I do anyway), but also for things like having monsters behave differently as they take damage, or indeed having them behave differently when the PCs take damage.
That's what I came here to say too.

Even without bloodied, I'll make monsters that have things that trigger at half hit points, I just wish I could call it bloodied to save my word count.

It is easier to add than subtract into negative numbers for many people. That's just a simple fact. Whether you find it more difficult or not is moot. Pre-calculating is also not relevant since you can do exactly the same thing with the current system so it's a wash.

But this is really off-topic, I suggest setting up a poll/separate thread if you want to keep discussing.
Thank you for completely ignoring literally 90% of my posts (like how I explicitly were calling out other systems NOT just 5e, and doing exactly what I predicted re: people omitting factors that impact the discussion to make a blanket statement). And then finish it off with "take if off topic". Convenient, that.

I'm just saying that I don't understand why this is being discussed. Yes, it's subjective. It's also something that hasn't mattered for decades. They changed it because people find adding easier, so why even argue about it?

Objectively, more people find adding numbers to be easier than THAC0. That's not subjective, it's just a statement of verifiable fact. 🤷‍♂️

No one has ever disagreed with that statement. In fact, I said literally the same thing. My point was that often when people make that claim (like what you're doing), you're completely ignoring the context of all those other factors that I listed. If you didn't feel like this topic was worth discussing, then perhaps you could have abstained from feeling the need to chime in on it. It's poor form to make a comment on a topic and then tell others they shouldn't be talking about it or to take it elsewhere.

This is a discussion forum. I'm discussing.

I don't see any value in saying that to some people (or calculators) there is no difference. I mean, you are technically correct which is the best kind of correct. In addition, the way you state it can also be confusing at times.

But it is a dead horse. One that died 20 years ago. Have a good one.

While telling others they should not, and to take it elsewhere. Noted.

I suggest setting up a poll/separate thread if you want to keep discussing.

You can't have it both ways, or act like you don't have to follow your own advice. If you felt like this was a "dead horse" and "not worth discussing", then the best course of action would be to refrain from participating yourself, right? Or are you compelled to get in a last word on topic you say isn't even worth talking about?

someone brought up how they wanted THAC0 to come back, thus it's perfectly on topic, whether you agree or not. And if you don't agree, then follow the advice you're telling others to do.
