WotC So, when do the announce the July book? Guesses on what it'll be? 🤔

Seven mana for the Goddess of Dragons.
That's actually quite a lot, compounded mathematically by the multi-color requirement: a lot of games don't last seven rounds, let alone fulfill the exacting distribution of colors. For context, most of the gods of Kaldheim at less than seven Mana (maybe all?).

Meh. You just run a lot of copies of Bayou, Savannah, Taiga, and Tropical Island, with Fastbond to dump them out quickly and Howling Mines to accelerate your draw. A few Birds of Paradise to further accelerate and give you security against just missing That One Color. You can run land-heavy and rely on Demonic Tutor to extract her from the deck, since she herself tutors five other dragons out.

(What? Are you suggesting M:tG has changed since Revised?)
I mean, you can also run a mono Red deck with multiple copies of Magda and a bunch of Dwarves and some Goldspan Dragons to cheat her into the battlefield.

I didn't suggest it was impossible, just that it will take some planning and luck.

If you cheat her onto the battlefield her enter the battle effect doesn't trigger. She's a powerful card still.

Also I think she's in the main set which means she's not in the Commander Decks. FR has tons of Dragons that could front that Draconic Deck, like Tzachazzar.

The Commander decks tied to Sets are mainly drawn from that Set, even the yearly Commander Set, which this year is Strixhaven. There are some reprints, and some Commander only cards, but largely the cards are related to the Set.

True, but I don't think she will be in the Commander set, but I could be wrong. It is interesting that the main set and the Commander Decks don't seem to have seperate expansion codes. Also it sounds like these Commander decks are like getting a second Commander 2021.

I Mean its only one deck less and as powerful as Strixhaven Commander 2021 decks. I was expecting 2 starter Commander decks for AFR after Strixhaven Commander 2021 Decks were announced.

Oh and Bahumut is also confirmed in the set, he's the young blond dude on some of the packaging, surrounded by his "Canaries"

And of course Drizzt is in, but that would surprise no one.

WotC is going to make a killing this Summer.

Oh, man, missed the Bahumat angle.

Given that this is a great Commander format card, and the ty have a Dragon tribal Commander deck...I would bit bet against Tiamat showing up in that deck in some form (maybe the Commander, maybe not).

It leaves me wonder what other Gods will be in the set. Lolth? Corellon Larethian? Moradin? Sune?

It had occurred to me the face of the Aura of Courage Deck could be Torm himself as a Human Knight God.

And given the picture of Bahumut is in human form, its possible he could be a DFC. We know there are DFCs in this set because the prerelease comes with 3 double sided dungeon cards.
