WotC What classic setting SHOULD WotC publish and why?

Except, I suppose, all those people who are desperate to play previous setting X in a 5E version. There seems to be a lot of those people, and to newbs those settings would be brand spanking anyway, so I don't see the issue...
Rules material for those settings is available online in a wide variety of forms, and the lore is on DMGuild. If they're going to rewrite the settings anyway, I'd rather they make new stuff than destroy the old in favor their new matrix.

We should remember a thing. The crystal spheres of the most famous settings can't before the setting themself. The Krynsphere and the Greysphere can't be showed before these settings. And we don't know possible plans about the unexplored continents from these planets. This detail could be very important, because these "hollow spaces" could be used later to add new elements, for example monsters, PC races and classes with special mechanics. Do you remember how was to try explaining the reasons the new races from Eberron could appear in other settings? Let's imagine they have been working for a return of Kara-Tur, and after learning a lot about the different Asian cultures and countries they are really inspired with lot of new ideas, but Kara-Tur has become too small. The solution? A sourcebook about the Heavenly Empire in the world of Greyhawk. Or they think the third continent of Krynn was a joker card and now it is the time to use it.

OK, but how many people want product X is a fine indicator as regards what should WotC publish ( at least one reading of should anyway). The notion that a new edition will 'destroy the old' seems a little hyperbolic maybe? IDK...

Hmm. Maybe. There a lot of places to look for inspiration, including Worlds Without Number. I was also kind of thinking that a bit of Troika's oddness might also cool. So, for example, when I read Fever Dreaming Marlinko. I think yeah, that's kinda what I want. I want the feel of Sigil to come across loud and clear, whilst still leaving lots of details wide open for individual GMs to fill in as they see fit.
Jason Sholtis' aesthetic would work great for this. I would try and see how much of Dungeon Dozen or Operation: Unfathomable you could repurpose.

Humans and Dwarves cna have kids in the ForgottenRealma, they are just always Dwarves: same with Elves, Halflings or Gnomes: their kids with Dwarvea are just always Dwarves. This is established in Canon.
When did this become canon? Not disputing, but in 2E there are canonical half-dwarves in the FR who are half-human half-dwarf. There's at least one in FRA.

FR11 Dwarves Deep by Ed Greenwood (1990) goes into this in awkward Greenwoodian detail, down to how Dwarven society celebrates intermarriage with Humans, Halflimgs, and Gnomes.

Honestly, if an old setting is one I want to run, I like getting a current edition version for the rules/systems. I have mixed feelings about some of the setting changes to Ravenloft for example, but the fear/stress mechanics are very much what I was looking for. It is only worth complaining about what gets published if you honestly feel it is preventing them from publishing something you do need. Not everything is for every customer. I didn't pick up either of the MtG settings, but I dont begrudge their existence. If you want some small impact, do what I do: participate in every survey WotC puts out there as honestly as you can.

Example: I would pick up Spelljammer 5th in a heartbeat for the rules for ships and space travel updated to be less of a clunky, 2nd ed slog. I can also buy like 20+pdfs out there for setting if I want to. Give me tools. I can build the house myself. Its been an important lesson for me that rules tinkering eats up a lot more time than it is worth for me.
