Insane Asylum -- Full Campaign

First Post
I am looking for resources (previously run games, published adventures, sites, etc.) for running a campaign in an 17th century style Insane Asylum -- will be set in my Homebrew world.

Running a 3.5 game with 5 people. I'm tapping into the standard Wikipedia, and Google search resources already.

Even more important, if anyone has already ran/played an adventure in an Insane Asylum let me know anything that worked (or didn't work).

Thanks for your help ahead of time.

Oh hell yeah.

I ran an awesome couple of sessions in the Asylum for Advanced Mental Treatment in my halfling campaign some years ago. It was awesome and creepy and moody and atmospheric. I found old B&W pics of an asylum for visual aids and had all kinds of creepy things going on- from magical electroshock therapy to trepanation and trepaniering.

If you're interested in the write up of it, it begins here, when the pcs meet Timothy, a refugee from the Asylum, while they are on their way there.

The creepy visuals and descriptions of maybe horrific, maybe helpful "treatments" going on really worked to creep out the pcs. They saw the treatments when they put on a circus type show and got a tour afterward iirc; the whole time, the doctor showing them around was talking about how "our techniques are the most modern and effective", and how "ignorance" had long prevented the use of such methods, which could help all these poor insane people. The pcs were really off balance, not sure if the asylum-keepers were totally eeeevil or if they were actually well-intentioned. It was awesome.

Where Madness Dwells

Where Madness Dwells is the first d20 adventure from the Inner Circle.
In the quiet, remote city of Niarva, the Witten Asylum stood as a testament to ground-breaking care for the mentally ill. Forty years ago, Witten was renowned throughout the surrounding communities as a place of peace and tranquility. Today, the asylum has fallen on dark times. Patients have gone missing, and the once placid establishment stands at the breach of a terrible discovery. Journey into the dark recesses of this fetid place and find out if the dark rumors surrounding Witten Asylum hold true. . . if you dare.

Where Madness Dwells is suitable for four 7th-level characters, and offers a good mix of roleplaying, problem solving and combat and can easily be adapted for parties of varying strength. This is one module your players will never forget.

DCC #34: Cage of Delirium seems to be a very interesting adventure for Ravenloft. It takes place in a haunted asylum, and judging from this review i think it features a ghostly villain.
