It was always supposed to be a book. The projects Ray had to confirm would be print, and not digital, were the two revived settings that are coming in a "never before used" format.
I still don't know if it was confirmed to be a book or just assumed to be, ie. I don't remember if he said the the Oct. release a book Wyatt is working on or just a product...and I am to lazy to look it up.

He had used words like "project" or "product" previously, so this is a minor confirmation, even if we were all working under the operating assumption that Wyatt was working on a book.
 


We are already getting a setting in the Strixhaven book, and an adventure in the Witchlight book, so as most speculation is trending, this mystery book will be a player options and monster book, similar to Volo's or Mordenkainen's. Anything Dark Sun is likely one of the revived settings coming in 2022 or 2023.
