D&D 5E The October D&D Book is Fizban’s Treasury of Dragons

As revealed by Nerd Immersion by deciphering computer code from D&D Beyond!

Fizban the Fabulous is, of course, the accident-prone, befuddled alter-ego of Dragonlance’s god of good dragons, Paladine, the platinum dragon (Dragonlance’s version of Bahamut).

Which makes my guess earlier this year spot on!

UPDATE -- the book now has a description!

Summary of what I noticed (probably too late and someone will have typed this already up by the time I hit post)
  • Dragonsight is mentioned as specific thing.
  • Dragons affect the lands around them, possibly related on how they worked in 4E.
  • Dragon minions, probably new monsters.
  • Aspects of dragon gods, That could mean that they now formally tie together Bahamut/Tiamat and Paladin/Thakisis.
  • Saphire Dragon: Live in the Underdark, employs Deep Gnomes, collect weapons and military lore.
  • Amethyst Dragon: Majestic with an even temperament. Often intermediates and diplomats.
  • Crystal Dragons: Wants to be friends with everyone but can't stand people who are mean to them. Lairs in the same area as white dragons and tend to steal their eggs and raise them as their own (I think that was also the case in previous editions).
  • Emerald Dragons: Intelligent and Inquisitive. And also rather paranoid.
  • Topaz Dragon: Selfish, often attack on sight. Lairs on beaches and under water.
  • First World: (mainly from Tashas): Was the place gods tried out their creation powers, so more of a blueprint storage and testing ground (basically they stole the idea from the first world in Pathfinder). A war (in which Bahamut and Tiamat were involved) caused it to explode and the multiverse was created by the different fragments of it.
  • Fizban and his connection to the War of the Lance is mentioned with (imo) hints that we will hear more about it.
  • Ranger: Gets a drake companion that levels with you.
  • Monk: Can channel dragon abilities like breath weapons, wings, blindsight, etc.
  • Ancestries for Dragonborn (including gem dragons)
  • They mention multiple feats and not only one.
  • Feat example: Absorb elements and empower your weapon with it.
  • All feats are combat centric.
  • Lair and Treasure information about each dragon type.
  • Maps for dragon lairs.
  • "Turtle Great Wyrm", so age categories for dragon turtles.
