What’s the deal with Satine Phoenix. Why so much love? It’s seems she is getting a steady stream of upvotes rather than simply being ignored like some people.
You should check out her work. She's a very talented storyteller, and she has a very expressive way of portraying NPCs and villains. She has also put forth several how-to videos on playing D&D on her YouTube channel (search for "GM Tips"). And she appeals to a large group of viewers and fans who might not feel adequately represented in the hobby.

Seriously, check out her work. She's a good egg.

I did watch an episode before deciding to down-vote her on the basis that I couldn’t understand how on earth she was in the high 20’s. Glad I at least attempted to understand. I still don’t see it, but thanks for the information. I guess I don’t see representation as making someone a great DM. Though I can see how it might attract votes. If it gets people watching/playing D&D though it’s all to the good.

It was just announced that Satine Phoenix would be the GM for a one-shot live game of "Avatar: Legends," along with an all-star cast of voice actors (including at least one voice actor from the Avatar: The Last Airbender cartoon). It's the final stretch goal of the whole Kickstarter, at the $8M mark. Pretty wild.

It's certainly a matter of taste.

Once I saw her being Upvoted I checked out her game on YouTube.

I found the concept imaginative and the players pretty fun. Her DMing was ok and she certainly seems genuinely hugely enthusiastic about gaming.

But IMO she's not up there with Mercer, Mulligan, Colville or Perkins. All of whom, again in IMO, are just on another level.

So that's my 2 cents.
