Blog (A5E) Meet Level Up's Dragonborn

We’ve already taken a look at the planetouched tieflings and aasimar, but now it’s time to peek at the mighty dragonborn! The dragonborn evolved somewhat during the playtest process, and we’re excited about the final result. https://www.levelup5e.com/news/meet-the-dragonborn Don't forget that the Level Up: Advanced 5th Edition Kickstarter launches in 2 weeks! I have been very satisfied with the way Level up handles races and the dragonborn are not an exception. My only disappointment is that you cannot fly in medium or heavy armor. Once more Str based builds are getting gimped in a dnd 5e derivative. It should have been based on encumberance.

Then play it that way in your games - problem solved!

Man that wings version still seems incredibly broken to me. I can fly anywhere within 180 feet with no penalty.
I too have played & run plenty of games where players with flight is no big deal including running an AL legal LMOP start to finish with a table where every single PC was an aarakokra. Ceilings, Tree branch canopies, caves lacking in tens of feet in overhead clearance, nets/grapple hooks & so on are very simple nonissues without even getting into severe weather & such. Once aware players quickly ask questions about that kinda stuff if it's not mentioned with terms like earlier stating that the forest is "pretty dense" or something.

In supers games flight & nightcrawler/kitty pride type at will teleport/phasing is almost mundane. The bigger problem in 5e is that longbows & a bunch of other stuff have a range on par with Matt Stutzman's world record breaking double compound foot bow world record that broke his prior world record. You are probably wondering what a "double compound foot bow" is because the words just don't assemble into what seems like a cohesive idea that fits within reality but it's exactly what it sounds like

edit: with levelup standardizing ranges into short/medium/long = x/y/z standardized distances it's even trivial to adjust those as needed if it uses something akin to standard o5e ranges :D

On Safari and Chrome on iOS I can’t zoom in on the pictures on the levelup site, after clicking on them.
Not sure about iOS, but the process I had to go through was:
  1. Click the link in the OP to the LevelUp site (but not the Kickstarter site)
  2. Click one of the images to bring it to primary focus (black background) (This seems to be where you're stuck?)
  3. Use the context menu to open the image in a new tab
  4. Click on the image in the new tab to expand it to its full standard size
  5. Then you can use zoom features like Ctrl-+/Ctrl-- to further zoom the image in and out

No further options to open the image in a new tab unfortunately, on the mobile browsers.

I don't know what to suggest. Try it on a desktop?
Yeah, it’s not that serious. I noticed the website pics are decent enough to read when zoomed in as is. Just thought I should mention that the mobile version has issues (I thought they were too low res at first).

I think Teemu was talking about the image below the link in the not post #1 OP, I was confused a moment in desktop chrome the other day when it didn't expand like normal. The image in the link expanded normally.
