Why pretend like our opinions matter when we all know Hollywood is going to cast Chris Pratt and Scarlett Johansson for the roles?
So would Scarlett Johansson play Gary Gygax or Dave Arneson?

You really think people will buy money to go to a theater (or pay $25 for early streaming) to see a biopic about Gary Gygax in enough numbers to warrant a Hollywood budget?Disagree. When you consider that the 50th anniversary of D&D is approaching, I think a movie about the origins of D&D can be made with a real, Hollywood budget. Let's make it happen.
As far as I can tell, this is a pretty jokey, fantasy-based thread. I don't think we really need to devolve into the realism of a movie based on Gygax and Arneson. You really think people will buy money to go to a theater (or pay $25 for early streaming) to see a biopic about Gary Gygax in enough numbers to warrant a Hollywood budget?
That's....wishful thinking
Maybe FIFA can fund it like their other stellar hit:You really think people will buy money to go to a theater (or pay $25 for early streaming) to see a biopic about Gary Gygax in enough numbers to warrant a Hollywood budget?

This is no fantasy! I was totally serious when I asked this question. I know I am not the first person to think this story would make a great movie if it's done properly. A big budget is not needed. What is needed is a great script. As far as I can tell, this is a pretty jokey, fantasy-based thread. I don't think we really need to devolve into the realism of a movie based on Gygax and Arneson.
