D&D 5E WotC Survey about PHB spells!

Have a feeling this is about the revised PHB, with WotC trying to figure out if there are spells they can remove and/or replace, with perhaps some of them becoming a part of monster/npc stat blocks.

Exactly. I would like a spell-creation-system, used to create the spells shown in the PHB, and then also parse the PHB spells down into the most-used/archetypal spells. Offer splat books of "created for you" spells for players who lack the time/ imagination/ inclination to craft their own.

The Conjure line of spells were left out (although you can add them back in as some of your optional 5 spells) and I wonder if that signifies something about how they plane on handling summoning in 5.5e PHB, in other words replacing the Conjure Spells with the Summoning Spells in Tasha's and Fizban's?

I got all of the conjure spells in mine.

Urgh, yeah, i'm not going to finish that one. Started with the A's and listed every spell, I got into the F's before giving up.

I really hate the kludgy satisfied/unsatisfied axis that WotC do on all their surveys. It's just too broad-brush for any feedback to be meaningful. Is a spell overpowered, or underpowered, or does its casting time make it useless, or is it unthematic, or is it something more general about spells (line effects, for instance) that need to be looked at rather than the spell itself.

Just so lacking in detail as to be useless.

I crit!
Egad! Gimme all the weirdo thematic corner case spells that might drive strange solutions to strange problems!

Please for the love of all that’s good and great don’t make it completely formulaic or paired down to some anemic list based on a few folks perceived usefulness.

But! A guide to making spells would also still be cool.

I voted "Satisfied" for about 90% of the spells presented, and 9% were "Don't know/Not Familiar." That 1% was me expressing dissatisfaction for Eldritch Blast and Guidance, aka the "Spam Sandwich."

Unfortunately neither of these appeared automatically on the survey, so I had to take the extra step of calling them out by name specifically in the third section of the survey. Yes, that's right: I went out of my way to voice my displeasure on these "I-keep-smashing-the-A-button" cantrips.
