D&D 5E A Compilation of all the Race Changes in Monsters of the Multiverse

Over on Reddit, user KingJackel went through the video leak which came out a few days ago and manually compiled a list of all the changes to races in the book. The changes are quite extensive, with only the fairy and harengon remaining unchanged. The book contains 33 races in total, compiled and updated from previous Dungeons & Dragons books...

I think you mean "if they want to alienate me, they made a critical success." I'm probably not going to buy this product, but only because I don't need it and have a limited budget, not because it upsets or alienates me.

Edit: Wrong Edit.
I do not have a limited budget. Your judgment is uncalled for and very demeaning.
Also, just talked with my players and a few other DM over discords. They will all cancel their preorder at the hobby shop, that is 20 books less to sale.

And by the way, you are talking to someone that has all books from WotC save RaM. In some cases, I have three copies of the books and in most case two when there is an alt cover.

I am still going to ask what is the point? This is like edition change level stuff and just further complicating the game. When you buy a PHB and much of the content is superseded, then you've officially broken the game at a certain cut off point. I think this is when I jump off the boat of new products because it seems to be the break point before the revision. When I have Multiverse working one way, the MM and PHB working another, I just don't feel like the headache of trying to figure out which was is up and which way is down.
What would you need to figure out? Nothing in the phb is being changed by this. Nor will the phb change to meet the newer style until a revised version of the phb is published.

None of this is even significant, much less “edition change” level.

.As long as my Wizard can then learn that spell, sure.

I can reliably make the world wonderful and terrible strange, without making every supernatural thing in it inexplicable. How do we even get wizards if there is no repeatability to magic, no recognizable forms and “laws” under which certain kinds of magic normally operate?
That spell was granted to the corrupt sorcerer by the demon Bagglial in exchange for 101 innocents cut down in the midst of blasphemy. Or whatever. The point is there is no reason why every magical thing in the world should be available to the PCs. The laws of magic produced the spells in the PHB, but they are merely a sliver of the sum total of magical knowledge discovered through the eons by wizards, warlocks, priests and sorcerers long dead or mad or both.

Short rests? If a class is based on short rests and all these races are based on Pb, then why do short rests for that one player? What’s the benefit? It’s like 3.5, it looks compatible on paper, in practice I imagine it’s going to be a lot of little fiddly things that add up.

One interesting effect of changing the goblinoids to fey is that they are now subject to the OotA Paladins ability to Turn the Faithless.
Would they be? The description--at least the stuff written in the OP; haven't watched any videos on the subject--doesn't seem to say that they have the Fey creature type, just that they have Fey Ancestry.

Congratulations, I guess?

Because a character with racial PB-based abilities with a class that has short rest abilities still needs short rests? Because the party recognizes that the Battle Master is more effective after a short rest? Or the warlock?

Maybe I don't understand the problem.

If you already have multiple copies of the books, why are you interested in buying this gift set, which are basically reprints? For the sake of completion?

BTW, if it matters, she didn't say you were on a limited budget. The point is that you don't speak for the older player base. You are feeling alienated. Many of us are not.
