I know very little about Critical Role and even less about the show. I wouldn't know about the show at all if not for this thread.

I do have Prime though.

How much anime influence would you say is part of the action style?

Different question: Is this going to be released world wide? I tried to google whether it will be available on Prime Germany at the same time as on Prime US, but I couldn't find a clear answer.

In Italy the trailer is currently on Prime and they state that the series will arrive on January the 28th.

How much anime influence would you say is part of the action style?

Impossible to say, since things are so heavily blended these days. What I see is a lot of Studio Mir similarities, which is South Korean, and they are generally not considered to be anime in the geographic sense. But how much have they been influenced? Who knows.

During the Kickstarter, they sold it as anime style show. The animation studio did the Legend of Kora previously.

Did you watch the trailer? Because if you did you would have seen as much of the show as I have, and could make your own determination.

The animation is smooth, the designs are closer to styles considered "anime" than He-man from the 90's or South Park.

If you are asking how over-the-top is the action... again, if you saw the trailer, you'd know as well as I do. There was a pretty intense sword fight and a clash of spells, but no one is blowing up mountains or punching out asteroids.


I guess at the end of the day... I have no idea what you are trying to ask. To me the question comes across almost like "how much American music influence is in the soundscape". There is such a wide diversity of what you could be asking... and it is a two minute clip.

Fair enough.

From the clip, I'm on the fence about whether or not I think I would enjoy it.

I'll likely try an episode when I'm between watching other stuff and see how it goes.
