D&D General Chris just said why I hate wizard/fighter dynamic

Because being "ok" at fighting isn't exactly a great niche, when EVERYONE fights. Fighters dont even get their third attack until the game reaches a point few people play.
That's a miscalculation right there.

Fighters should get an extra attack every 4 levels.
Barbarian, Ranger, and Paladin every 5.

Because there are 2 other pillars to the game?

They don't have to be "great" they just have to meaningfully contribute. You can argue they do that now. But my response would be, only if the DM is extending them leeway outside of what the game (5e) actually provides.
So, since rogues as skill monkeys can also contribute to combat, and casters can contribute to--well, everything with the right spells... how do you feel Fighters can't?

Are fighters better at exploring than rangers? No, that is their "thing", but fighters can still explore pretty darn well with the right skills. They can intimidate well (especially if you use the variant STR-based instead of CHA-based skill).

I wonder if your fighters aren't contributing as much because of your play style more so than the class??

2. It does not take 'months' to become an expert martial artist. It takes years.
The level he achieved does not take years. At a few hours twice a week you can do it in 5 years.
He had several months of constant training in both martial arts and magic.
3. It does not take 'months' to become physically fit enough to then APPLY that expert martial arts. That also takes years.
He was already pretty fit and he trained daily, not just a few times a week like most martial artists here in the real world.
4. To do that on top of study to becoming a master sorcerer? See 1. :p
He was a prodigy at magic, though. They were very clear on that during the training portion of the movie. Once he committed, he learned at a voracious pace.

10 might be a bit too restrictive for my tastes, but limit it to 1 per level (cap 20) and you still have the same effect IMO.

At 5th level you have 5 spell slots. Want to throw out that 3rd-level fireball? Sure, it is 60% of your magic for the DAY!

At 11th level (assuming the spell progress remained RAW) and need your 6th level disintegrate? Ok, cool, there goes over 50% of your magic since you only have 11 spell levels. :D
Slots and spell levels are different things.

For me, "at 5th level you have 5 slots" means you can cast 5 spells of any level - could be 5 3rds, could be 5 1sts, could be a 1st a 3rd and 3 2nds, whatever.

Pleasant side effect: spells used is also easier to track than spell levels used. :)

Sorry, I meant spell levels. In our current system, they are interchangeable terms.

Oh, I think tracking spell levels used is easier, but tastes differ.

Honest question, have you trained in martial arts, and participated in hard sparring where people are actively going at you with intent to cause damage.

To even condition the body to take the kind of incidental damage you take, is not '2 hours a week' type work.

That would be a completely different game to me and not what I want out of D&D. You do have some archetypes such as rune knight that has supernatural abilities if you want them. Personally I want some classes that are just dirt simple regular people trying to survive in a world of magic.
You're just keeping the rest of us down, then.

If every fighter could suddenly jump 3 times as far without magic I would definitely notice. It's not a small change.
Xena and Hercules aren't exactly "every fighter", they're the two (or certainly two of the) absolute highest-level fighters in the setting.

Never mind that Herc's also half-deity and it's left open-ended whether Xena is as well.
