D&D 5E I Think We Need A Bigger Shelf

Wizkid's new red dragon 'miniature' up for preorder and it’s a biggun, both in size and price! For $400 you can order the red dragon Balagos, the Flying Flame. This model is over 18 inches tall, and has a wingspan of nearly 2 feet! The wings and tail are detachable.

The miniature is taller than the Tiamat model released last year, although the wingspan isn't quite as wide.

Balagos is a famous red dragon from the Forgotten Realms who believed he was destined to rule over all dragonkind.

I shouldn't be, but I'm kinda irritated that the Red is larger than Tiamat. She's the Queen of Evil Dragons for frick's sake, she should be the biggest "miniature" on the table!

I guess it just gives WizKids rooms to release an even bigger Tiamat in a few years . . . .

I'm waiting for them to do . . . Demodragon!!!
I'm a little irritated by that as well, but I have a custom Tiamat that is bigger so I can live with it ;). I plan to modify that one to be even a bit bigger than it currently (among other modifications).

I too would love to see a Demodragon.

Am I the only person annoyed by the scale of that thing? It almost dwarfs Tiamat and she should by all accounts be the largest chromatic by far. The GF9 red is the optimal ancient dragon size for me. This just feels excessive.
Yes, but not that the red dragon is too big, but that Tiamat is to small. IMO, they should have made Tiamat after the made all of the gargantuan dragons and then used those to scale Tiamat.

The real question is one $400 minature...or at least 8 rpg books :)

Any suggestions? I've done some searching but haven't found a good red dragon IMO
These are gargantuan and have the more typical horned crest of D&D's red

Here's one a bit more pathfinder with it's spikiness but it is available in more sizes

Side note, I used the old colossal red to wrap up a campaign and it was such a letdown when we realized that a single fly move action (200') would take it off the map. For something that big and mobile, it feels best left to TOTM rather than the players swarming a stationary blob.

Yeah there comes a point when a monster is so big that it’s more of a terrain feature
