I’m saying what makes her a Barbarian aside from class skills and high str score? She doesn’t seem “barbaric”.
Welcome to 90% of Barbarians ever played in D&D since the 1980s!

I'm actually struggling to think of a Barbarian (class) I've seen played in D&D who was in any way more "barbaric" than the rest of the PCs. I think the closest is usually they "dress" Barbarian-style and come from a say, a Viking-esque or Steppe Tribe-esque culture rather than a late-Medieval-esque culture. I can think of a few small-b barbarians who weren't the class, but not really vice-versa!

Anyway the trailer looks both:

A) More fun and action-y than I was expecting (more in line with what I hoped than what I actually expected).

and

B) Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more D&D-ish than I expected, with tons of classic D&D things being shown (even them diving into a gelatinous cube to dodge a displacer beast!), and surprisingly diverse environments for what I expected to be something centered on a city in the FR.

So looks good.

I am lost on to why you see this as so good exactly?
Mostly the part about how more children will be excited to play D&D. For any reason.

Let's say that I'm watching this movie with my nieces and nephews. "Woah, that was so cool!" the oldest gushes, walking back to the car. "Uncle Nick, can I play a druid that can turn into giant monsters like that?!" And the way I see it, I can respond in a couple different ways.

Response 1: "Sorry kiddo, but that's against the rules. Here, let me show you what the rules allow."
Response 2: "A druid that can transform into monsters? That sounds awesome, let's make it happen!"

I know what my response is gonna be.
