I think you are right, but on the other hand WotC appears to be adopting two strato account for this: firstly, raising prices, amd secondly, putting out extra tie-in content through their now entirely owned digital platform. Yes, Spelljammer is only 192 pages between three smaller books, but they have already put out a bunch of explicit expansion content for free, and I can see them doing much more of that in the future.

Not a fan of digital only content. Free or otherwise, I'd pay a premium for getting it all in print.

Not necessarily, remains to be seen. The standard DM screen has unique tables, not just reprints from elsewhere.

It's not a 192 page book, it is three 64 pages books in a slipcover, that they have indicated will help available seperately.in the future. When they are, the going rate of $30 is what they will probably do.

In the future, full hardcover books will be mire.expemsive than they were in 2014. WotC has been artifically holding down costs through a lot.of inflation.

It's absolutely void of meaning and is intellectually bankrupt. Obviously it's sometimes true, but it's literally meaningless, because it's often completely false.

We're talking specific examples, and you've made no counter arguments beyond "I liked it", when you by your own admission, like literally everything WotC does. Because your attitude is entirely uncritical, it's kind of meaningless if you like something. It's like, if you love all of humanity, then that love a particularly individual is meaningless.

Let's be clear that this is deeply misleading.

WotC "held down" prices which rose by, what, 10%? And then increased them by over 70%.

What WotC are charging for Spelljammer is insanely higher than inflation. It's higher than inflation since the '80s, for god's sake.

And if they release 64-page books for $30 each, that's even more insane, that's HUNDREDS of percent. Don't lie to people about the numbers. It's too easy to disprove. When you lie to people's faces like that, you destroy your own credibility, and really should apologise for doing so.

(To be clear, if they release a 192 page book for $30, then they'll be forgiven, that's only slightly overpriced, but that doesn't seem to be the messaging.)
