D&D 5E Tales From the Yawning Portal Needs a Sequel

I really liked Tales From the Yawning Portal as it compiled and updated several classic adventure modules. We kind of got that too with Ghosts of Saltmarsh, though that stayed more to a theme.

We've had a few more anthology books with original content since, which is great. However, I'm craving more of those classic adventure conversions.

I know that Goodman Games does their Original Adventures Reincarnated (OAR) books, but they only cover 1-2 adventures each.

Anyone else wanting a sequel to Tales From the Yawning Portal? If so, what adventures would you put in it?
I love love love Yawning Portal, and agree I wish we had a sequel.

Yeah, I think Candlekeep and especially Journeys Through the Radiant Citadel are great follow-ups to the anthology concept.
The editing on Candlekeep was brutal and not thoughtful. SO much was pulled out of those adventures that many become railroads (though they were not written that way by the authors). The artificial enforcement of page count did not do them justice. Tales from the Yawning Portal doesn't have those constraints, and all the adventures are as thoughtfully laid out as the original authors intended. I did not find Candlekeep at all a good follow up to the anthology concept.

Radiant Citadel I have not seen enough of yet. I have a friend who likes what he has seen, so that's promising.

Or just have an AP that has a lot less wandering around talking to NPCs and a lot more straightforward dungeon crawling.

Funny how popular a good old-fashioned, linear, non-sandbox adventure is.
A lot of Yawning Portal isn't linear. Dead in Thay for example you don't even have to complete 2/3rd of the adventure.

I would like published adventures from more recently than 1e and 2e. In other words 3e and 4e adventures. I'd REALLY like the first 3 4e adventures updated and lots of the story elements fixed - in particular the Pyramid of Shadows.

OR - the entire Scales of War mega campaign re-jiggered for 5e with level progression from 1-20 instead of 1-30...

That would probably require an entire re-write because it is very Nentir Vale focused, so would have to re-write for Faerun
I would love another run through of Keep on the Shadowfell. It was fun at the time, my group just couldn't get into 4e. I have the follow up to that adventure we ended up abandoning the game before I had a chance to run it. It's still in the shrink wrap.

Is there a source for the un-edited adventures? Are they available on DMs Guild?

Yeah. As an author, I know that getting edited can sometimes hurt, but usually produces better work in the end.
Sure. But this was, "Well we've decided we need to cut some pages to accommodate another adventure so I'm cutting stuff to make room." Which left some adventures with entries that didn't make much sense because the link to that encounter had been cut by someone who hastily just chopped stuff to make room.

Bad editing feels rarer than bad writing, but is definitely more detrimental I think.

The author of the Grippli adventure from Candlekeep was so upset by the editing, which left a whole bunch out and changed the tone significantly from what he had submitted (and thought had been accepted), that he disavowed it completely.

Radiant Citadel seems to have come through that process in very good shape.
