D&D 5E Race as Class in 5E

Has anyone done the work to design races as classes (aka the Elf class) in 5E. I am thinking about putting together a 5E game heavily inspired by BECMI/RC and before I set to designing the Elf, Dwarf and Halfling classes, I wanted to see if anyone else had already done it.

Thanks.

I started some things like that a few months back, but I left it on the side for other projects.

IIRC, I removed ASI and built the racial features and feats (from XGtE) into the class chassis. I also added name level at 9th level. I remember the Dvarf gained the Clan Crafter Background feature + a Loyalty and base Reaction (DMG) bonus when dealing with Dwarves.

Paladin, Bard and Ranger where built as a Fighter archetypes for Humans. Rogues were Thieves or Assassins. Cleric and Druids were mostly left intact (both the Moon and Land druid were merge into the class chassis)

I went back with Weapon/Style specialization instead of 5e figthing styles and with roll under for skills. Proficiency Increased the pertinent stat by +2 and Expertise gave advantage.

a few things like that.
