Pathfinder 2E What’s with the incongruent art?

This cover just doesn’t match the title of Blood Lords and Zombiefeast. This looks like the cover for a children’s book. Why does 2E seem to have such…Nick Jr art? The cover alone turns me off from buying this product.

Even the Paizo staff were making fun of the cover on the GenCon stream. This cover isn't really indicative of the overall quality of the art IMO, it's just an odd outlier. The Knights of Lastwall was kind of weak art-wise, but in general the production is good across most Paizo products. Here's another artists rendition of a town in the same country that Blood Lords takes place in:

I actually like the halfling, but the utter blank expressions on Sajan is hilarious.

I'd like to imagine they had some other appropriately dark and edgy cover art, and then had a marketing department panic that Blood Lords: Zombie Feast wouldn't appeal to people who wanted a more lighthearted gaming experience or some other nonsense, and the current weird monstrosity of a cover was sarcastically slapped together from existing art by an irate art department, only for it to get accepted to their utter dismay.

Or udder dismay, as the case may be.
