A bad one.The "sack of HP" isn't big or laziness, it's an intentional design choice.

If only there were some sort of .. advanced Dungeons & Dragons system. It also gets boring fast if your DM isn't a vet.
That was my point. 5e is accessible to newbies. But what happens when after newbies learn the game, get comfortable, and want the gametoshift.
Thisis why the top 3 5e DM memes are
- Forever DMs who can't get players to shift to DMing
- DMPCs
- The DM finally gets the player to DM and it's a houserule and homebrew disaster
I've known DMs in every edition that had disasters, including yours truly. If 5e was as bad as you imply, no new groups would be forming for 5e.I know 5 first time DMs that had disasters in 5e.
Oh it’s too hard to run? I thought it was impossible to kill PCs in 5E?Is the 'struggling with the ease of DMing' because it's just as, is not as hard as 3x?
The phony CR, multiple book monsters, and little guidance of 3x, plus you are the replacement for any actual rules.
It’s hard to have a disaster. My pal in particular just kept dialing things up until he knew where the challenge really was.Oh it’s too hard to run? I thought it was impossible to kill PCs in 5E?
There's not enough instant death triggers that can be masqueraded as fair play that some people crave, yes.Oh it’s too hard to run? I thought it was impossible to kill PCs in 5E?
For you, perhaps. Happily for most players, a wise one.A bad one.
Really? The game is clearly designed with new players in mind, with some elements kept in because the grognards demanded it during the playtest.I admit it was designed to attract old players.
I do not admit it was designed to attract new players. I think that was at best a distant secondary goal, and at worst a complete stroke of luck.
Hilarious that the anti-4e crowd whined about "all the classes are the same" (they aren't) and have no problem with all the monsters being the same. For you, perhaps. Ha\appily for most players, a wise one.
