Thats true. Sometimes, these shows get too popular to wrap up in a timely manner. I think Better Call Saul fell into this place. A thing just becomes too popular to end at a predictable point, so on and on they go. The original idea has long been lost, and now the show just becomes a fan service vehicle. Leads to some rather inconsistent story telling and lackluster endings.

since theres no thread yet for the show ill give the new show a 6/10 so far. im going to watch however there wasnt that wow moment that the other series had in its first episode.

This felt more like looking back at cool pictures of your city before you were born and seeing how landmarks have changed

I must admit the final season(s) of Game of Thrones have lowered my enthusiasm for a prequel spinoff.

It didn't keep me away from it. Dumb and Dumber aren't involved in this one, so that was reason to give this a chance.

That said, I found this premiere a little too eager to shove all its parent show's greatest hits of gratuitous sex and gore into it, not all of which was necessary to move the plot. I'm not finding the characters particularly engaging, and Daemon is looking a little one-dimensionally evil a la Joffrey and Ramsay. Also that song of ice and fire reference toward the end really didn't work for me, knowing where that led in the parent show.

I'll watch for a couple more episodes but it needs to improve fast to keep me tuned in.

I thought it was fine, but really dragged out. Felt like the show had maybe 2 but for sure 1 too many seasons. While some folks think BCS was better than Breaking Bad, I'm not convinced in it's entirety. I do think BCS had greater moments as a series than BB, but the consistency and overall complete product came up a bit short of BB in the end. Which is ironic, because they made the conscious decision to wrap up BB before that happened, but let Saul linger.

I couldn't disagree more. Every scene in BCS was necessary for all of its intricate character development and plotting, and it's why all of those moments of payoff hit the way they did.
