Eberon feels like WW2 ended 6months to a year ago
Dragon lance feels like WW3 (with nukes) happened 3-5 generations ago.

Like has nothing to do with it. The Thing is not a remake of The Thing From Another World. They are both adaptations of a a book. The original source. A book. Garfield t-man is not a remake of Tobey Spider-man because the true source is a comic book.

Halloween from the 70s is the original form of that story. The Rob Zombie version is a remake because the original story is the 70s film.

I suppose you could stretch it and say any tv show or film based on a book or comic etc is a remake of the book. But again it’s about the source you are referring to. Tobey/Garfield spider movies are adaptations of a comic. Garfield isn’t remaking Tobey.

I dislike FR so any comparison to that will be shaded by that... I don't know the CR world at all.

I know Darksun, Birthright and Greyhawk but none of them have been updated to this edition.

In DL you can meet your god (if you play post war) in Eb your god may just be a concept and not 'real'
In DL magic is tied to the moons instead of the weave in Eb magic has been made into a weave
In DL you have a self appointed Texas rangers/us marshals set of knights in Eb each kingdom has it's own knights
In DL you have a goddess as you BBEG of the main war of the setting
In DL evil rituals created Dragonborn/Draconians. from dragon eggs (then if you continue past war they began breeding)

okay my original reply that you replied to was how if you modernized the DL setting by removing problematic issues and slightly tweeking alignment things it would be exactly like Ebberon and Forgotten Realms (and the CR world)

By the by, Garfield’s origin is more along the line of the Ultimate Spider-man origin and opposed to true normal Amazing Spider-man origin.

Though Ultimate Spidy had organic web shooters…. Like Tobeys.
