Speaking of dumb ideas that are at least useable, i'm surprised no one has done a Xd6 dice that has all the results of 2 or 3 d6 on a single die.

The 2d6 seems easy (using a d36 or the nested d6 in a d6):

d216 to get the 3d6 seems hard - and now I wonder if there is a big d6 with three little d6 inside of it though.

That was actually a birthday gift from long ago. First time I'd heard of them.

Wow. I wonder how well some of these work in terms of the equal probabilities:

Individual d14, d16, d18, d22, d24, d26, d28, d30, d48, d50, d60, d100, d120

The one that is a d4, d6, d8, d12, and d24 all at once especially!

OK, what do you use it for?

Tales From the Floating Vagabond, for one. The Window for another. Also, Chaos University. There are more RPGs and RPG accessories that use a d30, as well (DCC, various Armory products, etc).

If I understand various other threads correctly, it probably involves not allowing orcs, but having halflings, having a taxation and import system that makes no sense if you look at it too closely, and doesn't explicitly say that the stuff called "damage" when you're "hit" actually does anything that affects the fiction.
