Legend
So what you are saying is Kender even have to steal patches of cloth for their clothing...

Bless their innocent hearts.
Steal, no, of course not. They just pick up interesting scraps of cloth, bits and bobs and put it on.

"Ol' Finnegan threw out those trousers, but it had this neat grass stain on the shin that reminded me of the fields back in Goodlund. Missus Finnegan must have forgotten she put the shears next to those pants and wandered off - I was sure she said she was going to cut them up for rags so I cut the patch off and sewed it onto my breeches, so now I always carry around a bit of Goodlund with me - even though it's not really grass from Goodlund. Oh, yeah, I guess I should've put the sheers back too - I just didn't want Mrs. Finnegan to lose them by forgetting she put them on that rock. I'll do that the next time I'm around Finnegan's farm....If they forgot about that pig incident."

I love that screen's art. It's so atmospheric!

I'm actually reading Dwarven Kingdoms of Krynn right now, and according to it, dwarves of Krynn dispute this. I'm not sure that bit of lore ever caught on beyond that boxed set, but it's kind-of neat to add a bit of unreliable narration and conflicting creation stories to the legends of Krynn.

In DL, kender and dwarves are magical offshoots of gnomes.

Dwarves have always had an issue with this story, at least as far back as 1987.
