I think they are talking about a character with a similar theme to Goldmoon, not stating her as a warlock.

Every 1st edition cleric wore heavy armor until Goldmoon. Mechanically, it was simply better. Dex clerics didn't become viable until 3rd edition.
AD&D Clerics, like most classes, wore what armor their STR (and class) allowed. A low to average str character might not have better than Scale or Breastplate (unless they wanted to move faster) Where as a high STR Fighter would be clanking around (slowly) in Fullplate.

One thing I love about AD&D I wish WotC would bring back about armor. Full plate is great! But your slow and takes up like half your carry weight.

Yeah, I would love full plate to actually be great, as in, provide the best AC. I'm sick of every character pegging Dex to the max.

So have we learned of/how clerics are able to be clerics in the prequel adventurers and actual adventure? Like it’s all set sometime after Goldmoon?

So far, the most specific thing I've seen is the story is set in 351 AC and Verminaard gave Kansaldi orders so possibly pre-Pax Tharkas? Still gives it some wiggle room to have Goldmoon discover the Disks, but not much.

I'm not sure what the percentages are, but if there's a chance that the group will be wiped out or knocked out/captured, then it's a challenge. What is the chance of a TPK if each PC has a 50% chance of death?
Wouldn't it be 50%. Half the time you make it, half the time you don't. On average 2 PCs (out of 4) should go down. But there is a good chance you all do. Actually, I think it is more like a 25% chance of a TPK no that I think about it. However, it has been a long time since I've done anything with probabilities.

Maybe, but I'm doubtful. The dragon armies invaded Solomnia in spring of 351AC. Goldmoon found the disks in fall of 351 in the book Dragons of Autumn Twilight. There's not a lot of the year left for the adventure to be set in after she brings them back and gets them to Elistan(probably in the winter of 351).
