This epic war story begins with an invitation to a friend's funeral and three optional prelude encounters that guide you into the world of Krynn. Amy Dallen is joined by Eugenio Vargas to share some details about how these opening preludes work and some advice on using them in your own D&D games.

There is also information on the three short 'prelude' adventures which introduce players to the world of Krynn:
  • Eye in the Sky -- ideal for sorcerers, warlocks, wizards, or others seeking to become members of the Mages of High Sorcery.
  • Broken Silence -- ideal for clerics, druids, paladins, and other characters with god-given powers.
  • Scales of War -- ideal for any character and reveals the mysterious draconians.
The article discusses Session Zero for the campaign and outlines what to expect in a Dragonlance game -- war, death, refugees, and so on.

There's not much to compromise when it's "it needs to have this" and "it shouldn't have this".
"As is befitting the setting we recommend this Feat come with a restriction on Non-Good player characters. As always, you are free to adjust or outright ignore this with you character!"

Truly, we are doing tough work here? Or you simply wish to paint me, and anyone adjacent to me, with people memeing over mustaches.

Its not a complicated thing. I cannot use language on this respectable site, that can express the degree of stupidity I feel a 'Good' Black Robe, would represent.

I put it on par with Non-LG paladins, non-N druids, lawful bards and barbarians, non-lawful monks, good warlocks and rogues, and clerics one step-away from their deity's alignment. Also, the Ravnica guilds and Strixhaven schools should be alignment restricted if we are at all using the card game as reference.

Make sure you put that in your 1D&D survey feedback.

When people make a big deal about mustaches ...
The lack of mustaches is no joke! Look at this poor fellow:

While there are a few men depicted with mustaches, I think there's only one bearded Knight of Solamnia in all the art. That being said, Sturm's long mustache is part of his whole antiquated aesthetic. It's remarked upon several times throughout the Chronicles series. I don't think having the rest of the knights be clean shaven during that same time period is a big deal -- even if they were depicted as having longer mustaches in the classic 80s art.

did you ever find out if it says reimagining or alternate krynn anywhere in there?
I haven't seen anything along those lines yet. That being said, I'm also not seeing any major departures from established lore. It's more just change by omission (like not mentioning gully dwarves at all).

how many good-aligned black robe wizards are there in the adventure, anyways?
0 there are not even any neutral ones. When you do the Test to become a full Mage of High Sorcery you can only become a Black Robe if you are a selfish piece of naughty word. If you are good aligned becoming a Black Robe through the test can’t happen by default, and vice versa you can become a Red Robe at most. So by default in game you can only become a official Black Robe with a good alignment is if you have a change of heart after the fact.

I should note that is not a Knight of Solamnia. Only 2 Current Knights of Solamnia are actually met during the adventure.
