D&D 5E Homebrewed Warlock Patron: The Living Library

I know OF the show but no.

WATCH IT, it's a great show and basically in D&D terms the Librarians and their Guardian would be Warlocks (some multiclass) with The Library (which is very much a LIVING Library who picks it Librarians and the Guardian of the Librarians via invitation).

I don't know how I never made the connection between the Librarians and D&D Warlocks before.

On some notes:

• Book of Spells turns the warlock into a full spells prepped caster because you can return it and borrow it again with two new spells. Is this intentional? (Likewise the book of Skills gives you access to all skills just as long as you don't need them all at once)
• Book of Skills + Pact of Knowledge feels like a ridiculous combo
• You're overlapping hard with the Pact Boons
  • Book of the Mage is a Pact of the Tome-alike
  • Book of War does what a lot of people (IMO rightly) make Pact of the Blade do and feels ... off ... for the theme

And does the expanded spell list also grab cleric, paladin, druid, and ranger spells for you?

Finally, although they technically know fewer spells the warlock isn't as strapped for spells known as the sorcerer because they aren't trying to spread the spells out over multiple levels.

Yup, intentional. It's also why Book of Spells only comes online later at level 6 and not at level 1.

You can get the skills but you might not have the proper stat for it, and of course, you only get 1 book until level 6 so if you grab Book of Skills you don't get Book of Mage or Book of War so it might influence your build.

Intentionnal on both. Book of War is specifically there for the Pact of the Blade Warlocks.

And does the expanded spell list also grab cleric, paladin, druid, and ranger spells for you?

Anything for the chosen school, yes.
